Hey all, Was looking at getting the lavatube aka varitube and it seems to have a million other names. Before I buy one i'm just trying to see what other options i have. I've had bad luck with my ego's, blown mosfets and such, i even snapped one battery in half on accident cuz it was in my pocket lol. Will I have any similar things to worry about? This will be my first mod so any information you can give would be greatly appreciated!

With a lavatube? Yes, if you are snapping egos in half you will kill a LT, shell out a few extra bucks and get a provari or a buzz or infinity, just my opinion.

The snapping it in half was an accident it was in my pocket with a DCT i got from madvapes and it was just carelessness on my part lol. I don't see me being that careless ever again

Since you are using a dual coil tank, this thread may interest you.

A lot of people seem really excited by the lava tube (and other names for the same thing).. but there are some real limitations. Avoiding those limitations probably means spending a little more money on an American made device.

Thanks a lot for the info! Reading up on that thread while im working so may take a while.

As for the other mods, i was looking into them but almost all of the others i find are AT LEAST $120 and that's just out of my price range. I found the lavatube full kit for $75 which will break the bank for me but I'm tired of replacing batteries as often as I have. If you have other suggestions for such a great price then i'd love to know. I hate the thought of spending so much money on something and not knowing enough about it.

For $30 this may be a good way to see if VV is for you. XL2 Battery - Black

That is interesting and i'm actually thinking my wife may love that. Gonna look into that for next month if i can afford it for her. :D

+1 for apollo, great service, super fast, and best price for the LT I've seen.

I'd recommend the mini, because the full size is long as all hell, but if you don't mind that then the battery life is worth it.

Get single coil 3 ohm cartomizers for the DCT, madvapes carries them now. The LT can't power dual coils very well, and you'll end up getting 3.5 volts, which is awful for dual coils. Rock the 3ohm single coil in the DCT at whatever voltage you want and it's a great vape imo.

You will end up spending another $30.00 or so on a couple of batteries and a charger. And it only goes up to 4.2V? IMO you'll be better off with a lavatube. The best price I found was at Apollo ECigs.

yeah but they're outta stock for a week or two so i was trying to find who's gonna have it for about 75 with a decent warranty of some kind. Ivape has it for 75 but only 14 day warranty and i have some pretty terrible luck....

I didn't find Apollo's customer service all that great. I bought one of each and they didn't say anything about the regular being on out of stock until the order was shipped. Then they said it would be a few days. After several days I inquired and it became another week. I cancelled it and glad I did because they're still not in stock after a couple of weeks. I received the mini and it's huge so I can only imagine how big the regular must be. I like it but I'm not crazy about it. I find 3.8 - 4.0 is where I like to vape so my Go-go provides that without VV. That's just my experience and thankfully we have lots of options now...much different than when I first started vaping. LOL

You can also check out the Evo or 3go. Goes for about 50 bucks. It's not a true VV, you can set it from 4v, 4.5v to 5v. That's under load. Plus, you can use an LR atty/carto without any issues at 5v. I just got one, after trying a Lava Tube and the Evo, and I preferred the Evo. For the LT and ProVari, to get 5v under load, you'd have to set it at around 5.5v and you can't use LR 1.5ohm attys. I chose the Evo partly because of this feature (so I can simulate true HV vaping if I wanted), but moreso because I find myself a 4-4.5v vaper. I got mine for about $40 and I'm glad I didn't have to spend more just so I can use it from 4-4.5v.

Of course, it all depends on personal preference.
