Hi all.. so I broke down and bought the Phoenix clone rda from fastech for 3.89. after it seemed to take forever to arrive it finally showed up.

I checked the coil on my Provari and it read at 2.0 ohms. I dropped some juice on the coil and gave it a test burn and was surprised at how much vapor i got! Then I filled it with 10 drops of my fresh mixed DIY juice (the reason I bought a dripper) and happily vaped away. Then I got a yucky dry hit...which is to be expected. I took the top off and burned again and surpisingly got tons more vapor...over and over again.

Is it safe to dry burn the silica wick? if so, do you keep hitting it untio it doesnt produce vapor?

The most important question... How do you clran out the RDA so you can quickly switch flavors? please be detailed since Ive never used an RDA before. Hoping I dont have to make a new wick everytime...if so, it will become a vape shelf trophy for sure!

thanks for your help!

Yes, you can dry burn silica, just not cotton. And no, you take the cap off and hit your fire button a few seconds to dry burn.

You can try washing the RDA with warm water and carefully drying the base and cap and then dry burn the wick and then using another juice but for the most part, silica will be ok changing flavors if they are complimentary to each other.

I use cotton wicks now and just pull the cotton dry burn the coil and re roll a new wick. But NEVER dry burn cotton.

Also, it's to be expected to still get decent vapor production as the wick/coil begin to get dry... for a little while anyway. With a dripper though, it's all in the flavor. When it starts to taste muted or off, it's time to add more drops, regardless of the vapor production. It's pobably safe to say that when the flavor starts fading, vapor production will follow in kind soon after. But there's certainly no need to suffer through nasty vapes just to get every last bit of vapor out of the wick. Happy vaping.

Hope your DIY juice is rockin'. Just fiddled around with my first attempts today. Results weren't too bad, but the 3 I made seem to need some serious steeping. Then again, I probably suck at mixing at the moment, so maybe it's just me. You get good vapes from your fresh mixed juice? Guess I'm gonna need alot more practice. :)
