I "liked" myself to the e-cigarette group on Facebook and found this gem in the comments:
So, this is my response. If I got anything wrong, please feel free to correct me and I'll do so to my post:e-cigarette users suffer from a wide variety of potentially serious symptoms including racing pulse, dizziness, slurred speech, mouth ulcers, heartburn, coughing, ........, and sore throat, There may be a serious risk to those around e-cig...arette users (including young children, the elderly, and those with allergies) from being forced to inhale large amounts of nicotine (a highly addictive and deadly drug which can trigger fatal heart attacks), and propylene glycol (a respiratory irritant used in antifreeze and known to cause respiratory tract infections).
This device is a lifesaver. I hope more come to the same realization.1)The symptoms described refer to what happens once a person stops smoking conventional cigarettes. It is only coincidental if it occurs to a e-cigarette user.
2)The risk from any "2nd hand" vapor is minimal: the nicotine in e-liquid (if ...there is any in the first place--you can "vape" without nicotine), is negligible, because the nicotine in the aforementioned vapor binds immediately with the lungs; less than 1% of the vapor may contain nicotine. The resulting discharge is mostly water vapor. Nicotine is a poison, granted, but is NOT a carcinogen.
3)Propylene glycol is in antifreeze. It is also in many food products as a moisturizing additive, and used as a humectant in several medicines (including asthma inhalers). Additionally, it is not necessary to use PG as the base to e-liquids: USP food-grade vegetable glycerine is commonly used in combination with, or as a complete substitute, in many e-liquids; typically the propylene glycol used is USP food-grade as well.
BTW...I typed this. I didn't cut and paste information from another source. I did my research...next time do yours.
