The pins are fine on the Hcigars. The safety issues about the pins were that the smaller pin on the bad clone was too short and didn't make full contact. The hcigar pins are pretty much like the GP paps telescopic pins. As long as the telescopic pins are making full contact with the battery and it is not rattling, the pins will not move around. My GP paps pins actually wiggle more than the chi clone pins when not in contact with battery. I have yet to experience any safety problems with that in the last couple months I've been using it unless there was a short on the rba/rda on top of it.

I've had this mod for over a week now, no problems at all other than it having a shorter throw because the bottom switch cap's threading seems to be 1mm shorter than the real Chi you. I guess if short throw is a problem for you and you want the full throw, just get a small o-ring from a Igo-L and place it on top of the threading. Or make your own type of insulator to lengthen the throw. I haven't experienced any misfiring or heating problems with this yet.

Twistedchild316,

I thought the Fasttech product was the HCigar product (ie. Fasttech is merely acting as the retailer). Am I mistaken?

Thanks

Your guess is as good as mine....lol People have yet to receive the newly posted ones. I'm just HOPING they are the same.....or at least equal quality.

Are the GP pins and Chi you pins interchangeable? thanks

No, the pins for the GP lux are too short to make contact. What I was trying to explain was that the telescopic pins are supposed to wobble when not in contact with the batteries. Anything telescopic wobbles until they are making contact. That goes for telescoping mods to telescoping parts of devices. The problem with the pins that people were complaining about with the bad chi clone was that the small pin that makes contact with the battery was too short and would almost fall off or barely be screwed on to the bigger pin, which would cause a chance of a short. The pins of the Hcigar clone are long and have no problem making full contact even with flat button batteries without fear of the screw falling out.

What bad Chi-you clone is this that people are referring to?
I have not seen a confirmed Chi-You clone from another manufacturer as of yet.
(When I mean clone, I mean exacting, not just a similar design like the EHpro or Sigelei).
Does anyone here OWN a Chi-You clone that is NOT made by H-Cigar?
I'd love to see pics for comparison and know who the manufacturer is.
I'm just really curious because I haven't actually seen one.

(I think I have to post this question in the other Chi-You thread too)

Here's a video of the Bad chi clone. To be honest, I don't know who makes it. I know that some forums say it's the ones being sold on ebay. Also that the afc & locking rings are made of aluminum instead of ss. The Hcigar that I have doesn't have the problems that are being described in the video.

I am not sure what to think. I own the real deal, but I knew even back in February when I purchased it that eventually there would be a clone of it.. One thing is for sure, either people that spend the time creating these mods will just stop doing so, or, one of them will start suing vendors that sell their creations cloned from China. Which one of these prophecies will come to be is just a matter of time. As for this clone, I can bet that Mojo might stop making any further Chi-You's..

Does it bother you that they make clones? Or are you indifferent?
