Which is why you'll never see them in the classifieds on ECF (or an ECF co-op).

I hope I can get these laser etchings polished/sanded off. I thought it would have a 8888 serial number and/or a misspelling on the button, marking it as an obvious clone. It's my first bottom button mod and I don't care for the placement, but I can't even sell it as is!?!

Just got mine in.

Verdict: Pretty damn good.

Threads are nice and smooth, the main logo has a nice feel to it, the adjustable pins work as advertised, and it hits pretty well even with the brass pins.

The only negative I can really give this is that the back etching isn't as deep as the main logo. For the fake serial number, I don't really mind, but I'd rather not lose the Hangul text over time.

In 18350 mode, this thing is really nice and compact. This is my first pinky switch mod, and the form factor is extremely comfortable. I shortened the throw on the bottom switch and am having no problems with misfires or autofiring.

In 18650 mode with my Panasonic CGR18650's, it is indeed autofiring due to the lack of insulation on the negative end of the battery. I'll have to grab some shrink wrap or maybe just try using electrical tape to cover the end to prevent this, but I was aware this could be a problem going in.

All in all, for $27 bucks, this was a nice buy for a beater mod. I won't be using it much besides at home with the Trident and when I'm out drinking with the Russian 91% once my Reo comes in, but all in all I'm happy with the purchase.

That etching is deeper than it appears.

It took me over an hour of constant sanding with 120 grit wet sandpaper, but I got the etchings off the tube and the button. That was with power tools, by hand would have taken many, many hours. I hope I can sell it now without getting a ECF spanking.

That blows. I was planning on sanding mine off.
I don't feel like spending that much time, $ and effort to remove the logos.
Wish they didn't put those damn logos on it.

Mine is still in HK - being shipped.
I'll be getting my Sigelei "Bagua" (really looks more like a chi-you - but not a direct clone) within the next few days.
No logos - yay.

The pins dont make that much of a difference in how hard it hits, maybe .05v~
Its based on how well the mod is grounded via threading.

Although I have my issues with exact cloning, especially with the logos - I had to pull the trigger on the FastTech SS Chi-you clone.
I ordered before they raised the price.

I did look at the pictures. I found that the SS pics of the button has a spelling error in "style" and also printed ver 2012.
The brass pics same spelling error, logo is off center, but prints ver 2013.
Also, they are pictured with brass pins instead of silver plated.

AFAIK - there is only one manufacturer that is producing this exacting clone: HCigar

EHpro has a model that is close, but not quite (and no logos). Sigelei's is not really a clone, more of a look-a-like (either no logo or bagua logo).
So, since Hcigar is the main producer of all the GV clones and being sold on FT- I'm assuming that this Chi-you clone is
also being produced by HCigar. I know it's bad to assume, but it's really hard to tell when it comes to China's secrets - so, best guess.
Based on that, I believe the pics on FT are either "defective" models, old pics, or test model pics.
Hopefully they are actually selling the newest updated models.
But it's still possible that there is another company out there that I cannot find that is producing these.

I suppose we will find out more once someone gets their hands on one and posts it here.
I'll do that once I receive mine - but as with most of my FT orders - that will probably within 2 weeks.

The HCigar's Safety Lock extends out past the width of the mod, same as the Fasttech mod (are they even different?)

The real Chiyou is completely flush, which some people dont like because you begin unscrewing the firing pin and it is difficult to access without doing so.

The Fast Tech model is made by Hcigar.

The real Chi-You is made with same protruding lock ring and airflow control ring as the Hcigar.
Mojo also made them available with flush type rings and top cap (Chi Sleek)
