Not sure if this has been posted, but found it while Digging. If so, then please forgive the dupe, but EVERYONE DIGG IT!

This is the best Ad, clarification and informative truth from a Medical Professional I have yet to see.

EDIT: Chief of Staff UCLA Santa Monica - on electronic cigarettes

paid adverts are less credible, even if they are, 'interview-style'.

Normally, I would agree with you. But this one is different. The CoS of UCLA? WOW! Doctors with positions like this do NOT throw around endorsements lightly. Plus, I noticed it didn't say "Former" CoS.

To me, that adds quite a lot of weight to the subject.

Well... sort of. I mean, we have highly decorated doctors are also raving opponents of e-cigs, not to mention the "more doctors smoke Camel than any other brand" kind of thing....

In the video, the Dr's statements are mostly either common sense or common knowledge. If you had some schmuck on YouTube saying the same thing, no one would pay attention and they can be easily discredited, even though they are stating fact. But, you put a Dr of this caliber in a vid saying the same thing, people take notice. It also makes it harder to discredit the Dr because he thinks the "Earth is round".

Thanks for putting that link out there for us Krickster --

I concur with TTRP on the comment regarding paid adverts.

But I also consider your own response as valid and quite noteworthy.

On balance... I must say that even after taking into consideration the obvious special interests involved in the making of this 'interview-style' marketing effort.... I nevertheless find the video to be a positive and beneficial element in the promotion of a sound public understanding regarding vaporizers in general.

I also must tip my hat to the Doctor (despite whatever his own personal motivations might be..)..... for his willingness to put himself at some measure of professional risk with this as (effectively) a public endorsement.

cheers,
fisch

That's a fantastic vid, thank you very much for posting it. I truly wish that it were on a more reputable site so that I could easily reference it at work in case I am questioned, but it was great to be able to watch it nonetheless.

More reputable site? 8-o I run Pit-Tube. :D

I would have rathered that the good doctor was endorsing ecigs as a whole, rather than a specific brand. (I didn't actually count how many times he said 'Smoke Stick", but it was a LOT) One wonders what stake he has in the endorsement. I'm all for any type of legitimization of ecigs, but the mercenary aspect makes the endorsement suspect.
