Hi Y'all
First I just want to say I've not asked nor am a member of this group yet. I just found it today and have not read enough of the post to make up my mind.
I'm really not been on much since i joined back last January this year.
So if the mods ( person not device) and or anybody wants to delete cancel or close it i won't be offended I promise.
I've been a believer most of my life but my path following Him has looked more like a stock market graph in the newspaper. Thanks to His faithfulness He never let go and my path is straitened and moving upward.
When I smoked I was ashamed of my weakness and my witness it was a reason I turned down being an elder in my church. Now that I vape I still feel weakness but not as much (physically much better) shame for my weakness not as much. I know our Father sees me through Jesus.I just hope people can see more of Jesus in me and less of the vapeing because I don't hide my Jesus and I don't hide vapeing.
God Bless Ya'll for keeping The Faith

    No you can't
Neither did i. I knew C.S.Lewis was and he liked his whiskey I found from reading a short biography about him.
They both finished the race and that is what I tend to do asking as many to as I can to come with me.

Different time back then very limited with activities, smoking, drinking and card playing were OK back then, wasn't much else one could do but work, sleep and raise a family.

Here's a link to a thread I started a few months back on Spurgeon, you might find interesting also a link to the Spurgeon web site.

Nobaco, I so totally understand. Welcome to our part of the board! Please read 4th Sticky down, comply, then all is great!!!!!! Same for you, BackDoc and Jimstratus!

I want to answer more, but I have to go and pick up Rx's. But, I will get back to the conundrum of us all. Blessings to all of you! :)

I must be living in the 1800's, seems all i do is sleep, work, and raise a family:), sleep being the least of these........., great link!!

It seems the more 'modern' conveniences we have, the less time we have. I think it's because everyone works, now. The more we own, the more they own us.

I know my Lord Jesus Christ loves me so I've never cared what people think about me. Most of the people running around pointing fingers at everyone aren't true Christians anyway, so I wouldn't worry about what they say. I know that some Christians need fellowship - I don't. But I would advise any Christian to stay away from organized religion. Organized religion is like a cancer that will infect you if you spend too much time around them...

Nobaco, I knew that God didn't want me to smoke. I kept saying that cigarettes were my last vice.....everyone has one vice, right? Since I'm disabled, I felt entitled! Now how ridiculous is that. I never asked God's forgiveness as I had no intention of quitting. Everyone at church, when I was able to go, knew we smoked. After Wed. Night Supper, we'd pile into Mom's car....5 of us. I can only imagine the smoke pouring out of the car when we got out......sort of like a Cheech and Chong movie. Then we went into the church for prayer meeting.....smelling like a bonfire.:(

My mom got lung cancer from smoking, so I just knew that would make me quit. It didn't. My smoking got completely out of control, after she died, and I've even left the many carpet burns on my side of the bed to remind me. For the first time in my life, I reached out to God and told Him I needed help. I won't say vaping was an immediate exchange and I only thought I'd cut down on my smoking. By the Grace of God, I discovered there was a chance for me. It wasn't always easy as I felt I'd lost my best friend. Best friends don't try to kill you. It's been 4 years and 2 months since I smoked a cigarette and I figured up the other day that I have not smoked over 77,000 cigarettes. That should have given me lung cancer on its own. I give all the Praise Honor and Glory to God. It was Him, not me. In all honesty, it was a MIRACLE! Everyone who knows me was so shocked, including my doctor. I vape in his clinic. I am not an anti-smoking person as I believe people have the right to smoke if they choose to. It's their choice. I will tell them about vaping, if it's someone I know, but they have the final word. I only tell them once.

The amazing thing is that I asked Jesus to tell my parents that I quit smoking. I honestly believe He did that for me. :)

Praise the Lord for vaping!! I agree with you - I knew that smoking wasn't good for me, but I also know that it isn't going to send someone to hell.
Also, I would like to clear up a misconception: Smoking doesn't cause cancer; smoking "too much" causes cancer. Most of the people that I have seen that get cancer and emphysema, smoked 2 to 3 packs a day.
Anyway, vaping will save and extend many lives.:vapor:

Did you know that John Wayne smoke 5 packs/day? When I heard that, which was after he died, I was so amazed that he could even breathe! That's 3 1/2 cartons a week. Of course, he could afford it, but I was so very shocked. But, I smoked half of that a day. But, like drugs, cigarettes have an addicting agent in it. Now I can take pain pills without abusing them. I can take anixety meds without exceeding my self-imposed limit. But cigarettes......not so much.....non-existent. I just didn't want to quit. I am so very thankful to Almighty God that I was able to put them down forever. I think that with a stronger system like I have now, I will be able to start cutting down my mg's.:)

They put additive chemicals onto the tobacco, that's why when many people are vaping they still want a cigarette. I haven't smoked a cig in a few months now and I don't even crave one anymore.:)

Spurgeon smoked, and if he was around today he could possibly be a vaper:) don't sweat it brother , there are plenty of worse habits that proffesing Christians employ. For one : judging the brethren :). Let them judge .....let us be a witness to what He has done on the cross :)

AMEN & Hallelujah!!!!

My Brother who died in 2010 (at the age of 54 - Sudden Massive Heart Attack, no surprise,) smoked that much... 4 1/2 - 5 packs per day. I used to watch him literally light the 'new' cig from the 'old' one... chain smoke, all day long. I don't know HOW he breathed either... apparently, his Heart paid the price along with his lungs. :'(
