I am so sorry about your brother, Cuz. 54 is still young these days. I think I remember when that happened, or you told us about him. I do know that cigarettes can cause plaque buildup in your arteries like cholesterol and stress. Lady T still smokes along with her e-cig, or was, until this recent stint in the hospital. Her sister had heart trouble recently and switched to an e-cig system. Ya know, my sister talked to our mom about e-cigs, but she declined. Only God can change people, not us. But, prayer is powerful! Don't ever give up praying, even when it seems like a hopeless situation. God shines when it's hopeless. He can put us on our backs so that we can only look up to Him. It ain't over until the fat lady sings......I have a lousy voice and I haven't sung a word yet!

My Brother who died in 2010 (at the age of 54 - Sudden Massive Heart Attack, no surprise,) smoked that much... 4 1/2 - 5 packs per day. I used to watch him literally light the 'new' cig from the 'old' one... chain smoke, all day long. I don't know HOW he breathed either... apparently, his Heart paid the price along with his lungs. :'(

Sorry to hear about your brother. I don't see how anyone could smoke that much either. A person should not smoke over a 1/2 pack of cigs a day. No doubt that vaping is going to save a lot of lives!:vapor:

I hear ya Cuz! Amen, I always pray, but I must confess, the Lord knows sometimes my Faith is wavering behind the Prayers. Amen.

What I just read from your post, Cuz, is 'even though my faith sometimes wavers, I still pray!' You continue to pray behind the tears. So I see this as a positive thing!

Amen. I'm a Job 13:15 hanger on-er....

Though he slay me, yet I will trust in him; but I will defend my ways before him.
