Other mods can be used with protected batteries ........

Pretty sure the ProtegeV1 has protected batteries but dont quote me on it.

Regardless of if they are protected or not NEVER carry them or store them with metal - keys, change, screws etc.

I just had a quick look to see who else uses protected but the GG site is down and I admit not 100% who is selling what hope someone else will give you a list.

I had been warned by Trog months previously and had been careful not to store my battery improperly.

I simply forgot I had it in the bag so chucked a load of change on top and then added a large bunch of keys to the mix.

Only noticed when I went to get the keys and they were Hot Hot Hot .

I now carry my spare in a plastic film canister.

I have posted this numerous times as I know not everyone has seen the warnings.

Like I said no explosion and it had to be a good 20 minutes before I noticed so its not instant by any means.

But what happens if you did this at home and they were in a drawer with something flammible and you went out !!!.

Any Lithium battery can be dangerous if not handled correctly or they are faulty, so treat them with respect.

Very few do have a problem, but the more people taking up vaping the large battery devices the more chance someone will eventually have a fire in their home.

Please help.im so confused...trying to get hubby off of cigs..so if i buy the chuck let say..and i already have 510 attys..all i need to do is go and find protected batteries from someone totally seperate and they arent rechargeable or are they? where do i go to purchase them?

For the Chuck, I would recommend looking for 18650 3000mAh rechargeable batteries from Battery Junction. Grab two of them and a charger, and you would be set. Each battery should give you at least two days worth of vaping on a single charge.

I agree.

I did it about 8 months ago, shortly after I started using the SD. I still carry spares in my pocket occasionally, but I make sure there's nothing else in the pocket except maybe lint.

At home, batteries have their own little shelf in my desk. Of course, now, there's a lot of batteries sharing that space... CR123s, 18650's, 18350's...

I should add that it wasn't a protected battery, and it didn't explode. Of course, since it was in my pocket, I found out about it before the battery could discharge much.

+1. I sometimes use the 3000mAh 18650's in my Prodigy. When I do, I replace them at the end of the second day, whether they need it or not.
