Cig cost in Caifornia?

I hear everyone going ape**** over the increase in cigarette prices, but since I haven't bought a pack in almost 3 months, I am wondering how much they are now? 3 months ago Marlboros were $4.30 a pack with tax in California.....are they more now? Anyone still smoking here????????

I live in F'd up NY and Marlboro's just went up two weeks ago because it is one of our govenor's 88 new taxes. Right now the advertise about 6.68 per pack, but that is before sales tax. Two weeks ago I bought my last packs, I went in and asked for two packs of marlboro's. I gave them a 20 and got back a 5 and some change. So we are talking 7.50 a pack with sales tax. After Obama's tax kicks in on April 1, cigs in NY are going to be close to 9 bucks a pack I believe. Cost was the MAIN reason I switched to E-cigs, the health benefits (hopefully) will be a BONUS!

$4.30 a pack??? Really??? 'cause I was in a smoke shop 2 weeks ago getting rolling tobacco ($6.50 a pouch-ouch!) and virginia slims were 7 bucks! (I noticed/remembered because I was appalled)

Here in Chicago the average is like 8-8.50 but this as before April 1!!so after that maybe 9-9.50 and then we have a new state tax that will kick in after that so i say by the fall of 2009 $10.00 bucks ouch!!

How much you wanna bet that big tobacco is already working on a personal vapor to get away from the tax? With a tax that high, it's gotta put them outa business in the long run.

In NC a little over a month ago, they were between $3.19 and $4 a pack (Marlboro Ultra lights). That seems like a steal compared to other areas!! I would pay $25 per carton if I had a coupon. I have no idea what they are now. I am curious to find out.

Dang, who'd have thought anything would be cheaper in California? Have to start smoking again just so there's something affordable here! lol, NOT!!!!!!! Like I said, I have no idea what they are are now, but 3 months ago, cartons were even $38 with tax and CA hates smokers!

At the local "cheap cigs" it is $6.50 per pack. At the local gas station $8.50. In the last 6-8 weeks the price has skyrocketed. 2 months ago I was paying $5.25 per pack.

I'm almost certain those increases are directly due to the cigarette companies, the government's tax isn't supposed to go into effect until April 1st, the cigarette companies increased them like a month early, on their own, knowing that people are going to blame the government and see the whole thing as a result of the tax.

In DFW area the price can vary a little but I paid $7.21 a pack for Marlboro Regular the other day...wife still smokes. I remember taking a note from my dad to my little corner store when I was a kid and paying .42 cents a pack. Dang, I'm gettin' old

Truthfully, this is me...but it's not. A few years ago I walked into a music store in a mall in San Antonio. I got about three steps inside when a group of girls attacked me screaming and trying to rip off my shirt and my hair too. The store clerk and a security guard got me out the back shipping door. I was like "WTF"...I didn't know it but that night was a concert and Three Doors Blind or some sh*t like that group was in town and these brats thought I was one of those guys. My wife says I am the guys twin. I was just looking for some Metallica.
