Cigarette Newbie

Hi,
I just wanted to ask whether my proposed newbie setup is ok?

(a) 20 Benson & Hedges
(b) box of matches

I know that's a bit of a "here today, gone tomorrow" package but would it be enough to get me started?

Or should I go for it and buy a Dunhill pipe and solid gold Dunhill lighter? They have a great warranty and would last me a long time - I've read so much good stuff about them.

What do you think?

You should get a Zippo. They are way better than matches, last a lot longer, and give the best smoke possible.

That's great, thanks. I was wondering about what I should put on the end of my device - should I leave the "filter tip" in place or would I get more flavour if I removed it?

hmm I think you mean Camel, unfiltered, with alligator clips.. use the biggest fire starter too.. it always helps..

I'm wondering what to use to carry my device in? I've tried putting a lit cigarette in my top shirt pocket with limited success. What do you guys use?

Great! Can I use them all at the same time? What should I do with the ash? At present I keep it in a velvet bag.

I just tried a Benson & Hedges and kept getting a burnt taste. I took it back to the tobacconist who pointed out that I was smoking it the wrong way round! I feel really stupid now...anyone else make this mistake?

Sometimes when it's windy out, I find it very hard to light my cigarette.
Has anyone found a way to fix this problem?

I was thinking about maybe modifying one of these to make it a wind shield?

You have obviously chosen one of the many cig-a-like solutions. Since you are a newbie, you obviously didn't know that you should have spent the mega bucks on a high-end device:

It's about 1000 times more expensive, and get's out of date, but ....it comes with an all-metal container too. You could drive a truck over it.

Yes - my best friend has told me that I smell since I started all this. I don't care , though - I'm getting great throat hit and plumes of smoke from my B&H now!

I'm not sure that I'm ready for a device that large - maybe I could just use it at home.

Watch it. Those things may get siezed by Customs if you try to send them by mail into the States. Depends on the country of origin, though. Anyone had any experience with getting Habanos through Customs?

That habana is so big it looks a bit like a missile. Could cause a crisis at the post office imho.
