Well, djtonyb, speaking from my unique "employment situation", a box mod is great. You find an old skillet that someone threw out, and place it in the middle of your refrigerator box. Pile it high with old butts, light them up, and enjoy the lovely smoke. :)

Wow, this is more complicated than I originally thought. All I have is the box that the dishwasher came in. Could I possibly substitute a ceramic baking dish for the skillet?

As a new smoker I am looking for recommendations for vendors. I do not wish to use any foreign vendors and am looking to make my purchase within my village of Royston Vasey. I prefer to use a local shop for local people. I like to know the names of the people I make my purchases from so if you could recommend the local shop run by Edward and Tubbs that would be great. Thank you for your recommendations of my local shop.

Just order from FastNic. It takes a month to get it, but it's twelve cents cheaper.

We already know the names of Benson & Hedges, that makes them like family and they've been around a lot longer than Edward and Tubbs have been. You don't know if E&T is mixing their tobacco in a dirty bathtub in the back of the store, do you?

Somewhere out there
For those on a budget I found this manual "Box Mod" called the Rolls Along. The kit includes a wagon load of tobacco leaf, 2 mules, driver, metal burn box, a tarp and a box of stick matches. You put the tarp over your head and light the leaf in the box and you get consumed by smoke. TH is incredible! Also no bells and whistles, but this set up is totally reliable. Photo shows a smoke meet of the Rolls Along fans. RollsAlong.jpg

Wow, that does look like it would be much easier to repair than the regular Rolls. I'm pretty sure I could find all those parts at the local tractor supply, and then I wouldn't have to buy a new fridge.

This thread is absolutely hilarious!! It's killin' me!! People here are just way too clever.

I can't read it all right now (at work), but will need to check back later.

I've been sitting here at my desk laughing like crazy. If anyone has overhead me they are sure to see me as an insane person if I don't stop now. Been here with hands clamped over my mouth trying to stifle the laughter. :D :thumb:

Get a Propipi, if you don't like them you have never owned one, I think all newbie smokers should go straight to it.

Yeah, the guys who tell you to get a cigar have obviously never tried the propipi. Be sure and get the briar propipi, though. Anything made out of plastic, glass, or ceramic is a knock off. You will want the original.
