Cigarettes Avoided.

Useless! ...not. :)

In the beginning, I looked at my numbers all the time (mostly as encouragement while changing my habits).

Nowadays, not so much, but once you reach 28,000 cigarettes avoided...twenty eight thousand...it just becomes "a lot." I don't have an easy way of visualizing that number, although I can easily visualize the money saved 'cause it's still in my account.

Welcome to ECF....and congrats on quitting....:vapor:

Add in your numbers here.....We Vape - Global Money Saved/Cigarettes Avoided Calculator then check the totals....:vapor:

THAT is probably the reason that we are seeing usage bans by local governments. They see the money leaving fast!

Edit: I added my data. I also found an ANTZ site that lists state prices by pack, and PROUDLY shows the excise and sales taxes for each state. I won't link to them because, well... I don't support their methods, and I won't help people find them. According to it, Maryland makes $2.36 per pack helping people killing themselves. In the short time that I have been vaping, they have lost $195 dollars from just ME. Put that in your pipe and smoke it O'Malley!!!

I am certain that I have underestimated my smoking habit. I used 25 smokes per day as the "average", I know there were many, many days when I smoked much more than 25...

Wow.. Firstly a huge congrats to you! Secondly, it's hard to believe the scale! I guess in 23 years of smoking - and what amounted to over 200,000 cigarettes - it didn't seem anywhere close to that much...

And I agree, great thread!

I never even considered tracking cigarettes I smoked when I was a smoker. I knew I smoked 1.5 to 2 packs a day. It sounds a lot better than 30-40 cigarettes a day! I didn't want to track it until it was cigarettes I didn't smoke. Like it was said earlier in this thread. It gets scarier as you go on and that number rises. Really? I smoked that many cigarettes?!?

Congrats and keep it up!! I didn't quit by vaping, but recently punched in my numbers and it's over 100,000. HOLY ...... It adds up fast and the thought that I might have smoked all of those (and maybe more) is sobering. With vaping I honestly feel like my risk of ever smoking again has gone from small to none. Good work, keep watching those numbers for inspiration :)

You can say useless thread all you want to this. But I think about how many cigarettes THIS WEEK ALONE that I have avoided by vaping is amazing.
It makes any ex smoker feel good to see that magic number!

If you are hesitant on vaping buy a cheap set (if your a current smoker that is) for 15 bucks you can get a Kanger Evod single starter kit!

Hard to believe that I have already avoided 100 smokes!

Makes it all worth it!

:vapor::vapor::vapor:

Another way to get a counter for that achievement: click on "Forum Actions"at the top of this page, then click "Create SigBanner".

With that $40, put $20 in one jar for vaping supplies, and $20 in another jar to use for a big celebration when you hit your one year milestone.....:toast:

20 bucks in vaping supplies would last me a loooong time, I've been using the same 12ml bottle of juice for over a week. On the other hand, I plan on building a RBA dripper for home use, so theres a little money, but not much. In a year I should have nearly 2000 bucks in cash, I may just go buy that guitar I've been wanting!

When you think high end vaping is expensive just count what you used to spend on cigs and then take two months of your savings and go crazy. Buy a high end mod and some really nice tanks. They will last much longer than the cartons they replace.

At the risk of starting a heated discussion, I'll say, "I coulda had a Provari (or a Reo or an MVP or a <insert device name>".

Most of us spent a couple of hundred a month or more on tobacco in paper tubes. Money up in smoke.
