For a 510 devotee, it might be superfluous. For "the rest of us", as I put it, it is quite wonderful (and about 3.4V, I believe).

I really hope some eGO or Riva user gets an Elegant and can compare them for us. It may be precisely equivalent, or somewhat better, or not. I really don't know. I do know that (of the batts in my limited collection) it is one of my two favorite vapes. The other is the ProVape-1. I use all my attys (including 510) with each.

ah but I'm not looking at it as a 510 devotee I'm lookng at it from an overall standpoint..because let's face it most people are going to get or have adapters laying around to try different atties....

so...lets say I'm going to buy a battery and an adapter...

Where a 3.7V battery would be the winner...we simply dont have that option in this form factor...

so now it comes down to a 3.1V battery nearly identical in form...so it's going to be a step down for the KR8 users either way..
so it's the pros and cons of each....

and one of those I can get in a greater myriad of colors, and adjustable airflow for the cartos(which with the several different kinds of cartos out there I find an important factor)...

overall what I'm saying is that by not keeping it at 3.7V the manufacturer crippled what the elegant could have been..
in it's current form it really is just an eGo with less options and versatility

because well most would find moving a 510 up to 3.7V an improvement, not sure as many would consider a move that drops in voltage for the sake of mAh such an improvement...there needs to be some extra benefit to the trade off to justify it in my mind..
in fact if I were a new user and started with something like the elegant..and then found that I could get inproved performance out of a cheaper yet lower mAh battery I'd actually probably be POed..

but it's your review....I was just answering your question how you didn't understand how anyone could say they hated it....I was saying that it's not that I hate it...just that I find it pointless in it's current incarnation...now if they did a version 2 and took it back to the true 3.7V of other native KR8 devices...I'd trade the eGo in for one in no time

KR808D-1 cartomizers on a EGO/variant via an adapter is absolutely crap. The draw sucks and there is barely any vapor.

I'd much prefer a 510 cartomizer on a ego/variant

but with a 3 piece adapter...you can adjust the draw which totally changes the amount of vapor...just take the adaptor off and use a screwdriver on the slotted end and turn it counterclockwise...

My batteries charged very quickly; they must have been pre-charged to at least some extent. From a completely discharged state, I understand that it takes only about two hours to recharge them fully.

I see by tracking it arrived at my post office today - if not for the Monday holiday it would be delivered tomorrow -

Would I be safe in assuming it arrives pre-charged and that it's alright to vape with it immediately - or would you suggest delaying for an initial charge?

I feel like a little kid on Christmas eve ...

I wouldn't nessicarily use the word hate...
but I see it as this... the advantage it could have had over the eGo by remaining a true 3.7V device fell by the wayside and it's now down to the same voltage as the eGo..

so when weighing one against the other I consider there to be a slight advantage still to the eGo because with the appropriate adapter you can adjust the airflow to where you like it ....

so it comes to a native KR8 connection with a 3.1V battery....
vs...
a 3.1V battery with a KR8 connection with adjustable airflow..and available in a myriad more colors..

so not quite to the point of using the word hate...more that I find it superfluous...it doesn't fill any niche that there wasn't already an option for
thats exactly what i was thinking:D

When I received my kit, I charged both batteries. They were fully charged within 10 minutes.

I've now been exclusively using the Elegant since a week ago Thursday. Prior to purchasing the Elegant, I was using XL Manual 808 batteries. I like them a lot, but the Elegant produces just as much vapor and the batteries last so long. Also, most flavors taste better! Another huge plus is that I'm not burning cartomizers any longer and they are lasting longer.

I hope you're as happy with your purchase as I am!

vaporgalinfla - Thanks so much! I also use the XL manual 808 and very much appreciate your response. You know I'll be back here Tuesday as soon as the mail arrives ;-)

Charge one of the batteries first. It shouldn't take that long.

Even though I am much older, I know exactly what you mean by the "little kid on Christmas eve" comment.;)

update on my 2nd Elegant battery read 4.04 Volts at full charge. maybe it was left on the charger longer than the first one. The green light indicator on the charger may not be incredibly accurate and go on earlier than it should for a full charge. Anywho, That's my fifty cent worth.
Thanks for those reports! They don't happen to be consistent with my subjective impression, but who am I to argue with science.:D

I can't speak for proudlion (although I'm anxious to hear what he says) but I just received mine in the mail today and I absolutely love it!

Definitely a smoother, cooler vape, as Don said, than the XL manual batteries...in fact, if I had to pick just one word to describe the experience, it would be just that...smooth.

Tons of vapor, but yes, less TH than with an XL battery. I normally vape 12mg or less, so there's often not a lot of TH anyway, so that's not really an issue for me.
But sometimes (like if I'm out, i.e.drinking) I do want TH...so, just for a test, I popped on a carto with 24mg and...wham! Plenty of TH; problem solved, at least for me!

I've only tried a few of my favorite liquids so far, but I also agree with vaporgalinfla...every one I've tried tastes better, even though I loved them before. I can taste subtleties that eluded me, making them much richer and fuller, which I didn't expect...I LOVE this thing!!!

I am very pleased to hear these reports! It's a bit embarrassing for a reviewer, if the predominant comments are on the order of: "You are full of s..., DaBoomVape. My experience wasn't anything like yours!"

Therefore, I am especially pleased to read your report, NanC. Your specific impressions are so similar to mine. [Gee, are we twins separated at birth?]

At the same time, I hasten to say that I encourage folks to express whatever their experiences are: the good, the bad, and the...daboom!

Everything that NanC said - 'smooth' is a perfect description.

Love it!

Thanks to you all

We're definitely on the same page, but the twin thing? I don't think so, lol. (although it did get me thinking...I might just be the only other person on the planet not enamored with the 510/eGo...what year were you born, lol?)
My age and date of birth are displayed in my profile. [Yours is a mystery.;)] However, the odds are that I am much older than you. My theory is that you were put into temporal stasis for whatever number of years difference there is in our ages.

Either that or we are soulmates. :D

All kidding aside, it is simply that we each have impeccable taste!
