Hey guys! Upon recommendation from a member here on ECF i bought my first little atty to play around with, a Cisco LR 1.5 ohm bridgeless atomizer. I just popped in into my Provari set at 3.4 and vaped it, the Halo Belgian cocoa I just got tastes amazing! But I keep getting a burnt taste after like one drag. all I did was pop it on and drop a few drops onto the coil directly, put the cap back on and vaped. Am I missing something? Suggested use of this atomizer?

Also, I think I want to become a dripper, at least for at-home use. What are the best atomizers for your money these days?! Not looking to send more than 75$ unless it is truly suggested! Thank you for any input, vape on my friends!

Is it a 306 or a 510? Both require priming (which it doesn't sound like you did) and both take a bit of time to break in. Just vape through it - adding 3 drops every time you get that burnt taste - and it will soon settle down. Personally, I'd always recommend the vanilla bridged Ciscos over the debridged ones - I just find them more forgiving. I'd also recommend the 510s (with a drip shield) over the 306s for regular dripping. I use the 306s for testing flavours.

p.s. You didn't pop a 1.5Ω atty at 3.4v. You're likely not dripping enough. Try 3-4 drops. As long as you don't see the liquid pool in the bottom of the atty or hear a heavy gurgle (some light gurgling isn't bad) you'll be fine. Even if you do get heavy gurgle, it'll pass. The burnt taste is because you are vaping dry coils/wicks. Check out that thread I just posted and I or someone else will help out.

The key to dripping is to not get all mad and frustrated while you learn how. Getting dry hits, flooding the atty, and even popping a couple are just part of the learning curve, and take my word for it we have all been there - done that. That's why many of us suggest that you start out with inexpensive atties so that it won't matter all that much when you ruin one.

The Cisco attys are big on flavor and vapor but I have been disappointed in their longevity. I have used 3 of the 306s with one dying after about 2 weeks. I tried their HH.357 which gives incredible flavor but at 22 dollars I expect longer that 2.5 months use. And yes, I did follow their directions for use.

I have moved on to RBAs which are a little more expensive to purchase but can be rebuilt for less than 50 cents per build. If money weren't an issue I'd probably have stayed with the HH.357 but until they get the price down or the quality up I'll stay with my RBAs.

Hell, I have had Joye attys that last longer than HHs and I personally like them more. It just all depends on the type of vape you like. I have 2 eBDPs but I think I still prefer my Joyes.
