Cisco's Laser Mod for the Modern Vapor 902

Well I got one of the new Laser Pointers from madvapes and started the Cisco mod. I extracted the battery connector from a dead 902 auto and went to work.

As stated previously, the new lasers are different in a couple of respects:

The battery cap no longer has a tit on it, it now has a dimple instead. You have to solder in your own tit so the 10440 can make contact. Not a big deal, you just have to get the cap pretty hot to get the solder to stick.

There is no resistor on the PCB, but you do need to cut the horseshoe shaped wire that leads to the laser generator, otherwise the laser will activate every time you push the button.

You can use any of the three post on the switch, except the one on the bottom left if you are looking at the front of the button. I found that the one on the top right was the easiet to get to.

I had to cut about 1/3 of the spring off, as it was too tight and I was worried about it possibly getting bent towards the housing. It worked great.

Everything else was pretty much by the directions Cisco provided.

I constantly checked continuity between the spring and battery connector at every assembly step, just to make sure everything was working.

It took about an hour to build and when I inserted the battery I was able to enjoy the rewards of my efforts. Cisco is the man and deserves many credits for this!

Here it is beside a Modern Vapor 902 with manual battery.
