The parts are so small when something falls of the bench it takes about 1/2 hour to find it, if I even know what it was that fell....

Cisco...

cisco, when you lose a part, shut off all the lights and shine a flashlight where you think you lost it ;) 1/2 hour is too long to find something!

we also have magnet on a stick thingie that we use to find stuff in the carpet, but the flashlight trick works the best.

that or bare feet ;)

I use McAfee Enterprise and also get an alert on the dx site:
JS/Exploit-Packed.c.gen
Be careful out there . . .
I deal with protecting from this crap for a living.

Yep...that's the one. I totally trust McAfee....been using their stuff for over a decade and have found my computer detecting viruses that other friend's anti-virus programs didn't. The only other program I trusted more was Dr. Solomons, but they got bought out.

ok, i got almost none eletric/electronics experience, but...

i think 6v is too much for my 510/084 attys. so, what can happen if i use on this mod one ordinary 1.5v and one 3.0~3.7v battery?

my point is to increase the autonomy and deliver a little more power on the atty, instead of using just one 3.0~3.7v batt.

You can not run this mod at 6v no matter what battery you use.
Maybe you are confused about the size, but it can only take one 10440 battery which is equivalent in size to a AAA.
It works at 3.6v

Also, NEVER mix battery sizes or voltages if you want to use more than one, you wouldn't like the results. :p

Hey Guys,

Did a little mass production today and modded 5 more of these pen style laser pointers all with different attys and 1 with 2x10440's

I didn't like the atty connector pressed into the chrome trim ring so I recessed the atty connectors into the shell and drilled out the trim rings so the atty goes inside the ring not sitting on top of it, gives a nice recessed look and makes them a tad shorter also...:)

I also made a 901 with 2x10440's for higher voltage vaping. Both batteries are 3.6 volt x 2 ( my meter read 8.3v fully charged) so using ohms law and some math I installed a 1ohm 2watt resistor in the tube. It softens the blow from 2x3.6v batteries and knocks the amp draw down to 1.8 amps (Single 3.7v battery draws 1.2 amps) I didn't check the amps under load.

Cheers

well , I gave it a go , man these are way too much hassle to make any more i tell ya . I'm gonna stick to the originals. My pen laser was made of aluminium and the build quality is no where near as nice as the other lasers.

Still , turned out OK i guess , I used a 901 . I had to reduce the battery connector diameter to be able to fit it in the laser and be able to keep the threads for the chrome cap..never again......hehe

are the steps to make one of this similar to the other Laser Pointer mod Guide (sorry can't put link yet) by Cisco? This one looks better :).

Congratulations Cisco, I'm impressed. Since I register (yesterday) I've been hanging in the Modders sub-forum because of this art peaces for all, made by you.

This one requires a little more fabrication. Modding it like I did in the 1st post with the connector pressed into the chrome cap is fairly easy. Recessing the atty connector and drilling out the chrome trim ring is not so easy, this defiantly requires some better tools. Cutting the shell down, drilling the switch hole and not ruining the finish takes some finesse. Everything else is pretty much the same as the original laser mod.
