Clapton and fused Clapton

So I'm just now getting into building more complex wire instead of buying spools of it. The problem I'm running into is that I keep getting super low ohms on my coils. I'm aiming for a .3-.5 and I'm getting closer to .1. My assumption is more wire means more resistance right? My fused Clapton has 3 cores 26 awg ss with 36 awg ss as the Clapton. If I add more cores the resistance should be higher right? I wanna build dual coils but with resistance like that I can't. Please help me out guys. Be gentle. It's my first time.

That is correct. The thicker the wire the lower the resistance. More core wires also drops resistance because more metal.

Perfectly correct, but you're thinking about it wrong. The smaller the gauge, the bigger the wire; it's inverse. 28ga is thinner than 26. If you substitute 28 for 26 the resistance will increase, not decrease. Similarly, decreasing the number of cores will increase resistance no matter the gauge. Three 28s has less resistance then two 28s. Three 26s has less resistance than two 26s.
