Wire thickness v ohms

im a bit usure about this ...
I've recently started wrapping my own coils and thought, probably mistakenly that the thinner the wire, the lower the resistance I would get.
That is if I use 22+32 awg as an Ss Clapton wire the ohms of the finished coils would be higher (for arguments sake 0.5) than if I wrapped the same coil internal diameter and number of wraps than if I used 26+32 awg.
Or have I got this totally back to front?
My ultimate aim using ss Clapton wire and 5/6 wraps in a dual coil set up is to get something like 0.25 to 0.3.
I do use the steam ... Coil wrapping website calculator but there's no option for Clapton wire in the drop down list.
As always any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Larger the wire, lower the resistance. If you want a higher resistance, go with a smaller wire.

The thinner the wire the more restrictive (resistance) to electron flow. Think garden hose, the smaller the hose the more restrictive (resistance) the water flow.

Resistance is a restriction of electron flow. Think of electrons as water, and the wire as different diameters of pipe.

think of it as cross sectional area of the wire and the number of conductive elements that can transfer free electrons across that area... less area less electron flow.. ergo more resistance...

Easiest way to remember, the AWG number, lower AWG number = lower resistance (thicker wire = a large multi-lane highway), higher AWG number = higher resistance (larger the number is more resistance, thinner wire = ie 32awg a single lane residendtial road).

I make my Clapton with 24g and 30g kanthal..... 6 wraps around a 2.4 mm screwdriver comes out to be .50 ohms or .25 with dual coils... Hope this helps ya out

Longer wire = more resistance/ohms.
Thinner wire = more resistance.
Larger diameter coil = more resistance ( for the same number of turns, because the wire is longer).
