Classified Mark Up Jerks.

It seems to me a seedy underbelly of what the intent was for the classifieds. I mean how can you mark something up that you bought, never used, and never modded up? Was that the intent, or was it to allow fair trade between community members?
In any hobby with rare items in low production counts, you're going to run into this type of behavior.
Even down to things we see every day like cell phones. Popular electronics get gouged all the time after launch days. They're sold out because the resellers were there at 4am, not 10 or 11.
I find it sad that those who's excitement comes from money/profit take away the experience from those who are excited about the product. Because if we didn't like the product, this wouldn't exist anyways and in the end this kind if behavior only tarnishes the whole point.
It's not that they're breaking the rules, because the rules were there to make it fair to everyone. Collection status applies, and buyers recourse does exist. Remember, life happens... A lot. It would be unfair to cap the value of a rare item to the honest man selling one. What they're doing is more taking advantage of the vendor/manufacture who created the fan base, excitement, and well advertising, and the customers who were excited, to make a profit for themselves.
It's a terrible thing to try and regulate. I can't begin to think how you would do that online. But it's not just us and its not just here or in vaping. It's everywhere

Its an impossible task lol. I am aware of that, I just like being reminded of the good people left in this world!

There have been numerous listings in the classifieds with used items (not just mods) listed higher than retail. There are a ton of helpful people in this community but it is sad to see people taking advantage of the uninformed and noobs.
Can I sell you some of my Limited Edition Petrified wood to siphon it through, so your nic can be LE as well? Apparently it is a prime commodity where you can find it in El Paso!
I don't think that selling at a profit is immoral, especially on something that is by no means a necessity.
If I own it (whatever it is) and I decide to sell it I get to decide the price.

I have to give some credit to the mod builders who make these and are not marking up their products even higher to profit from the excess demand for their products. It must get tempting to them when they see their mods selling for much more days or even minutes after they are purchased.
Also the ability to sell something at the same or higher price than you purchased the item for takes a lot of the risk out of these higher end purchases. Knowing if you don't like something and can resell it easily does make it easier to rationalize a purchase as in: "But honey, I can sell this for more than I paid for it, so it's an investment!" Or am I the only one who's ever said that?

What you're saying is... Screw the community, we should all start looking for stuff we can make a profit from on the ECF forum classifieds. That is not how I see it. Sell it on Criagslist, sell it on EBAY, but do not take away from what we have here. People helping people. It was why this forum was founded, or I may be wrong.

What I don't like about the classifieds is that it's all fancy, expensive stuff. Nothing for us ordinary folks to even look at. I don't even bother anymore.

It is ironic how one who is insinuating how giving he is in the PIF dept. has made trades that have netted him positive mls in his trades and has offered stuff he has gotton for free. And yes I took the tme to check....
personally i think buying a mod to sell is a slap in the face to the modder, showing no respect to him and really lame. i think "hype" tax is a joke and pretty ridiculous. if you buy an item at least give it a try, don't post it as new never used cause that to me just shows you used a modder and his device as a means to an end...pretty pathetic but whatever humans are going down hill it's 2013 what do you expect...

I never insinuated how much or what I PIF'd. BTW, trades are not PIF. Too bad your research kung fu is weak...
