It's somewhat ironic that the most of the posters that rail against profiteering and the heartless toward the ECF 'brother/sisterhood' have not PIF'd anything! Yes, I took the time to check...

How can you check that? Based on classified feedback? I can't tell you how many friends I have given free supplies and mods to.

Seriously, I get not speakin up about this, but arguing against profiteering?

Darn it I'm feeding the trolls aren't I?

The cost of a collectible item is only as high as the stupidity and brainwashed desperation of the buyer will allow.

If people want to post non-regulated hybrid mods for $1000, I say let them.

There is plenty of room in the marketplace for people with more dollars than sense, and it is called the "ECF Classified".

When some sucker who thinks that it has some sort of "value" opens up his wallet for that 4-digit flashlight tube, those of us who know better will point and laugh, and use out hard-earned money to buy more DIY supplies, spare dna-20 and Nivel Chips, and non-vape-related things that will make our lives more interesting and enjoyable...

If it were proposed that any item in the classifieds cannot be listed above the original purchase price or something on that order, I'd support that. If they want more, then they can sell it somewhere else. But then that might send ECF-ers elsewhere too. I guess the site has to take all these points into consideration. Tolerating the scalper concept at ECF is most unpalatable, buy & sell profiteering.

I don't use the classifieds, so it's neither here nor there to me.

I tell myself every time I exit and again when I obsessively return! I have bought 2 nice things off the classifieds. It took forEver to get to the point of discovery and get them before someone else did. Because they were decently priced in near new condition and my savings were adequate, not stellar , but good enought to just do it...ha ha before somebody else does!
That in itself is a little entertainment and fair gamemenship ( is that a word?). I've seen lower end, I'm not using this anymore type things that price according to the temperature of the classifieds which are dominated by hard to find or high end or limited editions. It's just a BAD influence. The bon esprit cannot thrive. In this economy there are seriously struggling people. I may be one soon However i have stock piled and know stuff now that will enable me to keep this just about as cheap as chewing Wrigley's gum everyday. Sure it's about choice but we need a used items for sale to help people who bought things when they were starting and quickly moved on or too many of something but they can't return it. The newbie who grabs it saves. The ex newbie who sells it recovers a little, it's an expensive deal to get organized in. So many styles and types of vaping equipment to learn on and keep busy with while NOT smoking. This is primarily a smoking substitute, secondarily a hobby for most the world. Let's help more people dive in even more than we already are by making this a very active fun site to learn on and be busy on, while we are not smoking. Does that paint any kind of picture to support having a regular used items thread? I realize the thread regular used items will have its own batch of problems and maybe people will say "nothing but junk" on there and leave with a disgusted feeling. I don't know. I have clearos all used once and I'm just not a plastic clearos girl. I have ones people applaud on here. I would sell those maybe but saving for a rainy day when throat hit flaor wnd consistency mean nothing to me relative to needing a vape. Others I donated. Whatever. Too much nic tonight. AGAIN!!

Come on...the flippers in the ECF classies provide much amusement on other forum like the Vape Pit, why should we stop profiteers and remove such a great source of amusement from the rest of the world. While I agree flippers who sell a Ihybred for $200 more than they just paid for it a week before are lower than most tort lawyers anyone who would buy from them has serious self esteem issues as well.

I did suggest that when listing anything on the classified a retail price should be mandatory to post the listing...maybe some folks don't know how bad they are getting ripped off and it would clearly show these flippers for the profiteers they really are. My other suggestion is not to buy from them at all.

UKV Forum classies actually separated their sales into two section, one for normal sales and one section for any item priced over MSRP for the flippers.

^^^^ This!!! Well said!

I get frustrated that it seems nobody even takes the time to check the WTB section and my experience using it turned out to be a waste of time. Luckily for me the manufacturer released a new run of the item I wanted so I didn't have to get gouged by classified pricing on this sought after device.

Some people must live on the classifieds because anything priced anywhere close to retail sells onstantly... But the whacked-out prices keep getting bumped to the top and sit there like bait.

I and other people I know have pif'd more times than can be counted, just not in ecf because for me it's not user friendly and I don't know exactly if the recipient is real or not. Posts and emails and conversations that result in a need or interest bring out the pic in me. But I have time. Pif is a god thread to unload your stuff rather than throwing it away when your a working person raising a family. I'm retired. Get it? I choose to pif selectively.
It's somewhat ironic that the most of the posters that rail against profiteering and the heartless toward the ECF 'brother/sisterhood' have not PIF'd anything! Yes, I took the time to check...

Right now there is a loophole in the classified rules that allow "one of a kind/out of production" mods to be listed at whatever price. These mods are not "one of a kind" enough to justify a $200-$300 price increase over their original price. However, people can take advantage of the atmosphere here at ECF and profit BIG TIME on these mods. The rule should be changed to Retail +30 or 40% max. I think that is a lot more reasonable. If they really do not want profiteering here, they should reevaluate their policy on this issue.

I just bypass the price gougers. My biggesrt complaint is the BSing in the classifieds and all the "Bump for my buddy" posts.

I don't have any friends that sell on there, but I have bumped thigs I thought were priced fairly and could end up being a good buy for someone without a ton of dough...like myself.

I agree, it's a lot of back slapping and atta boying.

The solution to all of this is don't read the classifieds. Now you're gonna complain about what is posted on the individual threads or for bumping? :?: If its that annoying just don't read it! Best not to police transactions that you aren't part of and that aren't breaking any current rules if you get annoyed that easily. If we are complaining however I have an opposite complaint---

People who become so used to the prices they get in a co op that they feel the need to write you and tell you your below what you paid retail price isn't quite low enough for them. There is a whole segment of vapers who practically want you to give something away here.

For this and all other classified irritants-- just move on--life is too short to fuss over someone else's transactions on here.

This comes up from time to time, and it's already been addressed.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-guidelines-updated-often-without-notice.html

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-notice-new-classified-tools-please-read.html

Unless it's limited or out of production, pricing is capped at 20% above retail, period. If you see an ad that you feel is unfairly profiteering, report it.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/forms.php?do=form&fid=20

Or other complaint: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/forms.php?do=form&fid=21

We review all reports, and take the appropriate action on a case by case basis.

Hope this helps.
