To ensure the best performance from your hardware it is best to keep it clean. This goes beyond cleaning just the battery and the charger. Drip Tips get pretty nasty after a couple of weeks so the next time you go to refill or change a carto hold the Drip Tip up to light...if it's crusty..it's time to clean them.

Cleaning is easy, just run some warm tap water through them, then poke a Q-tip in and out of it. One thing to note, if you are doing this over your kitchen sink put the strainer cover in the sink in case your drop it, no stainer cover? Shove a sponge over the drain hole...I've dropped a few in my time and fishing them out of the garbage disposal is a drag. Never use Alcohol to clean your Drip Tips, it will dry out the O-ring causing them to crack.

If you go back and forth from your KR batteries to a 510 device while using tanks it's important to clean your Adapter. Pour a little Vodka, Iso 90+%, or hot water into a glass, drop the adapter in and swirl it around in the glass for a minute or so. Remove, rinse, then give them a good wipe down...most importantly take a needle and clean out the intake holes.

You may notice that your Tanks have a little stiffer draw when used with an Adapter on your 510 device. The reason for this is the intake holes are completely covered when the tank is screwed in. When using your KR Batts the tank sits just above the intake holes. A dirty Adapter will only add to that stiffer draw on your 510 batts. It also a good idea to wad up a little piece of paper towel and clean the threads of Tank Cartomizer.

8-o! Yoiks! Thanks for this info, Snow -- I always clean my drip tips, but occasionally I have given them an "alcohol bath," thinking I was "sterilizing" them -- never again! 8-o

Heheheee. When using the clear plastic DTs that come with tanks, you can see the condensation & discolouration, so you feel obliged to clean them. Easily fixed by switching to opaque or swirly coloured DTs. What you can't see can't hurt you

Seriously though, I don't clean my air intake holes because I did this early on and the draw became too airy. I suspect my needle was too large or my technique too vigorous.

Heh-heh....... I seem to remember an excellent instructional video with a......... a drip tip that looked "interesting" inside. :)

Heehehehe.......I had the Q-tip out but alas I ran out of time. Back then I didn't have enough YT views so the DT cleaning ended up getting edited out to keep the vid under 15 minutes. That one was pretty nasty which made it perfect for a cleaning vid, not so much if the cleaning portion of the video got edited though....

Good to see ya around Lisa!!!
