You've heard it before, I say it all the time, cleaning is essential to maintaining your vape gear!
We all know we need to do it - some of us are religious about it, others forget - it's like house chores, most of us don't want to do it, but we are better for it.
We don't need to spend hours cleaning are bats, chargers, cartos, atties, tanks, etc. There are a few quick and easy steps you can take daily or weekly - a few minutes tops - to keep your gear functioning and to ensure you are getting the best vapour and flavour.

- Use a cotton swab or tissue at end of each day (or at least once a week) to clean the threading on of your eGo (or similar) bats and MOD's - it's amazing how much juice builds up in there.
- Use a cotton swab or tissue at end of each day (or at least once a week) to clean the threading on of your eGo (or similar) chargers - this is something people forget to do, but if your bat threads are dirty it will transfer to your charger. Here's a great video by Vaper Thompson from NicFotNation on eGo cleaning and maintenance.
- You can use an air can (like the ones you use on your computer) to blow out any threaded connector.
- You can use isopropyl alcohol to clean your chargers, bats, and MOD threading - use a cotton swab to apply.
Cartos, Atties, and Tanks:
- Most common practice is to blow out your atties and cartos regularly. Here's a great video by AmaJN.
- You can boil cartos and atties in water. Check out an old tip of mine on reviving dead atties.
- Soak your atties and cartos in isopropyl alcohol.
- You can wash any kind of polypropylene (plastic), pyrex (glass), or metal tank in warm water and soap (non scented) or isopropyl alcohol. Make sure to also wash the O rings and any other pieces that may come with your tank. Check out my video on how to clean your stardust.
Drip Tips, Drip Shields, Bottles, and other Accessories:
- You can wash any of these accessories with warm water and soap (non scented) or isopropyl alcohol. I recommend washing after each use, sounds like a lot but once you get into the habit, it's really easy - remember bacteria can still build up on any of these accessories over time.
MOD's:
- Every MOD is different but they all require some form of maintenance and cleaning. Check with the vendor or manufacture for maintenance and cleaning instructions.
