Tearing it apart is not so bad with these. Wiggle the tube off and pull the cneter tube off and you can then do a variety of rinse methods, I usually just rinse with hot water and fling off as much excess water as I can and pat with a naptin.

Check the small wick in the coil at the bottom so that it is still aligned with a small (very small) amt comgin out of either end. Screw the Vortex on to your battery and give it a few short power bursts until the smoke clears and the coils glow.

Then replace the center tube and the outer tube, possibly using the end where the mouthpiece was before, onto the bottom connector again and gently and snugly twist back on.
