Too funny, works our butts off to break a new atty in, and then clean it so that we can start all over again. IMO there is nothing worse than being over zealous with the cleaning of an atomizer.
My daily maintenance is to just flood the atty, and blow it out. After a week or two I grab a different atty to use. When I have several dirty atties I will soak them in alcohol for an hour or so, and then blow it out. The only time I dry burn is if I have been using a flavor that tends to linger (like licorice). The key to long atty life is to never store them dry, always prime them with
juice or PG after cleaning.
Most of my atties have been in use for over a year.
