Hi,
I have a VaporFi Rocket tank with dual core atomizer and an Aspire Nautilas Mini. I got the Rocket first and I read that I can disassemble and soak the atomizer and tank parts in Vodka to clean. But then when I got the Aspire Nautilus, it says NOT to soak the atomizer. Why can't I? Any info would be helpful as I'm new to vaping.
Thanks!

You can clean tanks with water, no problem.

You used to be able to clean some atomizers (the replacement coil section) with alcohol (e.g. vodka) with a small degree of success. The only really successful way to clean a coil that makes much sense (time vs. cost. trouble) is to get the wick out and dry-burn it.

As the coils come in many designs, it's hard to say for sure.

The "Rocket" tank uses a coil that could be a little renewed or partly refreshed, shall we say. 100% Cleaned? No...

There are some issues with the specification of the the latest OCC Rocket coils.
One specification that occurs to me is the price Vaporfi charge. I bought a pack for $6. Vaporfi charge $14.99. I don't feel the need to slave over coils when they are available so cheaply...

If what you have is what I think it is, you should forget cleaning them... it's a waste of time.

if your using a premade coil don't clean the coil. it wont work very well as far as I understand. but you CAN clean the tank. if your building your own coils you CAN clean them to prolong their life. I make my own coils and when they gunk up I will dry burn the coil only. WITHOUT the cotton wick in place. the dry burn burns off the gunk and prolongs life. however, as I mentioned you can NOT do this with a pre made coil. as far as the tank is concerned, I rinse mine with watter and clean when I change to a different juice flavor. I only clean my coil on a as needed basis. Hope this helps. best wishes

VaporFi charges $19.95 for their OCC or they did the last time I checked. Actually they may be VOCC, now. They keep changing them without any notice. Either way, Kanger Dual Coils work in them (at least in the newer Rockets) and they're much cheaper. I still clean mine, though. I'm cheap like that. :D

As for the Nautilus, I've soaked mine in hot water for a couple of hours without issue. Just make sure they're thoroughly dry before using them again.

Yep. It's rather bad idea to buy anything from vaporfi.

Vaporfi is the biggest ripoff in the vape world. I only rinse out tanks if I'm switching flavors, and only if they are dissimilar flavors. If I'm going from one tobacco to another, I just drain my tanks and replace the atomizer or re-coil/re-wick. For my Kabuki I don't even replace the head; they seemingly last forever. I just drain the tank and flood the head with Fusion and blow out...

I've had both eGo ONEs for approx 7 wks. I've never cleaned the tanks, I just refill juice and (e)go. :) I do unscrew the units; drip tip, tank, air flow and battery when refilling and wipe them clean though.

Should I be cleaning the tanks ie warm water, dish soap etc.? Am I a bad owner/parent?

Cheers
So long as they are still working and keeping you off the sticks, you are doing it right.
