I have found after I rinse them out with water and blow them out, if I dip them thoroughly in Everclear ( or something similar) for a couple secs, with tweezers, hold it up let the Everclear drain, blow onto a paper towel until there's no Everclear left in it...it seems to taste better and feel "dryer" if that makes sense? I much prefer it that way the liquid seems to just go better in there and the draw feels like a new cart compared to rinsing and let dry with just water.

I've got here some cartomizers that I'd like to fill with liquid not the same as what they came with. Is there any way to clean the previous liquid out of the cartomizer? Perhaps remove the batting somehow?

Thanks :)

If you haven't seen some of the previous posts, you can get some very interesting results by simply adding a different flavor to what's left in the cart. You might like it.

I have my bottle of Everclear hidden ;) God knows hubby will find it and I'll be screwed out of a cart cleaner :p
I keep a small jar on my desk of it, I have my cleaned out carts on a slight angle in an old bullet holder type thing for... .10 bullets? I know nothing bout guns lol but I know my carts fit perfect on it. When I want a new flavor i take a cart, drop it in the jar, grab the tweezers, hold it to drain, grab a paper towel, blow out the cart and fill :D

There is actually an easier way if your in a hurry or just plain feeling lazy:

Just take off the cap and the stopper, wad up a little tissue up into a ball and stick it in against the filler. Put the cart on end with the battery end pointing up in the air. Let it sit that way for a while, maybe 5 minutes, and the tissue will soak up ALL of the unwanted juice and flavor. If the the cart was closer to full then empty, then you may have to do this a couple of times. Sometimes it helps to shake the cart while holding onto the battery end to expedite the liquid getting to the tissue.

The benefit of doing it this way? No dry time. Just refill and puff away, and most of the time I seriously cannot taste the previous flavor in the slightest:D

I was trying to get one emptied in a hurry today, to let a friend try the RY4.
It was a brand new Vanilla, which I don't care for a whole lot.
I basically just stacked up a couple napkins, popped the cap and inner silicon piece,
like I was about to fill it... held the cart over the napkins, battery end down... and blew.
After about a minute of this, the vanilla stopped coming out, and I refilled as normal with ry4.

I suppose I'd take more care and time, if the flavors weren't as complimentary as I think
vanilla and ry4 are... but it certainly worked, in a pinch. I managed to get 17 drops in.

Just a thought.

Last night, I cleaned few used cartos using hapovoss's method.
I refilled them with coffee flavor, and they are all taste like dirty wet towel.
I can't even taste coffee at all. They are vaping all right, but flavor.....

Should I dry them before refill? What am I missing?

I've cleaned a few...if they were burnt i soak them in 91% alcohol, then rinse under tap water...fill with water blow out fill with water blow out until no "juice" shows up at battery end trapped between center post and threads. takes about 10x fill/blows to get it clear. THEN invert and let dry for days...and days..and more days.

Thats my method, and only used in dire emergencies.

I tried it too and have a bit of that same foul taste. But I flooded it with Hilton 24mg. It's ok but would have been much better if I had let it dry out completely. I am sure it would have been just like a new blank.

I'm sure that works great but is it worth $5 of your time for a $2.50 cart? :D

I rinse with water, blow out, rinse, blow out, until I don't smell the flavor anymore. I drop it in a jar of Everclear a sec til totally covered. I get my tweezers and grab the cart out, tip upside down in the sink to let any Everclear drain out. I blow through it into a paper towel until no liquid comes out. I then use the paper towel to wipe off any moisture. I then fill it right away, no waiting, and all my flavors taste crisp and great. The Everclear hasn't harmed me, IF any is left in there, and I'm still using my ORIGINAL carts without issue to flavor or the way they vape.
Always blow from the mouth piece end not the battery end. You want all the liquid to come out the battery end. I find the Everclear dries it up so I can refill it straight away without an issue.

My husband likes to shoot signs for fun...I just take the bullets out and steal the cases! :p
I get a lot of use out of my carts, some more than 10 times, so prefilled doesn't faze me at all :)

I feel I have my dripping down to a science so it doesn't bother me either. But we were talking about wash - rinse - wash - rinse - wash - rinse. Then - wash and rinse yet again. That's too much.
