Generally powder coat finishes can be kept clean with just a mild detergent and water.

It seems that it is reacting to the oils on your hand. Some finishes may tarnish depending on the ph of our hands.

Do you use chemicals regularly? Even some detergents, cleaners, and solvents can leave behind chemicals after washing.

You might try a rubbing compound on a small area to see if that will remove the tarnish.

Some people have had to find/use a cover on their REO's to keep them from reacting to the oil on their skin.

It's not tarnished the copper color fades away from juice, oils from your hands and use of cleaners.
I wipe down all my grands every couple days with rubbing alcohol, my replacement copper door faded just as fast.
None of the other colors I've had were effected by the same cleaning method although I've never had a silver vein?
I think a cover is the only way to keep the copper vein from fading.

I was wondering about this too. I've tried scrubbing it with dishwasher detergent, soaking in vinegar, scrubbing with vinegar and salt, and toothpaste but none of those had any noticeable affect.
I kind of just gave up because I don't dislike the look now, but it would be cool to have a color-changing Reo. :)

Sounds like you need some mood paint: Peugeot RCZ | Mood Paint Demonstration - YouTube

I did just wax the week old copper vein door I have and will also wax the copper vein body I'm getting on Friday. Only time will tell if it helps.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but @Filthy-Beast, did this work or did your copper vein Reo also tarnish? I also read somewhere about clear-coating it. What kind of paint would work best? Acrylic?

Thanks!
