I've cleaned mine twice by repeatedly injecting (using a medical syringe, 21ga) them with (very) hot water until the water comes out clear. Then I just blew them out and let them dry for a few days. This worked fairly well, but only twice. After the third cleaning, they just kinda petered out and stopped producing more than a whisp of vapor.

Huh. I had hoped, given the cost, that they would last a bit longer. I paid $12.95 at litecig for a 5-pack (and got some others from a different location). I like the cartomizer, they're so convenient. I've got a bunch of the Mega cartridges, purported to hold 1.5 or more ml, but honestly, I get lots of dripping and mess with a whole lot less....

When they're new, they're wonderful. But you're right, they don't last very long and if you overfill them, they're very messy. But when they're working properly, you can vape on one for the better part of a day without refilling. For that reason I keep a few new or freshly-cleaned ones around in case I can't drip or refill smaller carts or cartos.

this is what you need hon!

untitled.jpg

need a pipe cutter to cut the CE2s, do not i repeat DO NOT remove the CE2 inner parts from it's metal tube or they will leak forever, i've done it before and they will leak forever...supposedly there is glue/epoxy in that binds it well to the metal tube...the problem is not the glue, it is simply the result of flaring the metal tube when you pry back and forth to get the inner part out thus leaving a larger gap to cover after prying it off...just get the Terumo brand 3 ml switch and you're set

the advantage? i can remove the syringe tube by slowly prying it off, rinse in hot water, dry burn, rinse and dry burn and dry off the wick again, then put them back together in 10 mins...it is way easier to remove the silicone plug at the cup, thus eliminating the need of a syringe to refill...

easily done and i still have my first gen CE2 going strong, just that i prefer to go with lower resistance now...good luck!

It's called a Clear Carto. They'll be hitting the streets come mid January. Available in 3 ohm ranges. CoV may have them first. The modders first came up with the idea of using a trimmed off syringe and cutting up a C-E2 R4 XL carto and putting the guts in the syringe tube. Evidently the Chinese are watching what modders are a doin. Next thing I see is Manufacturers offering Clear Carto's. Even if it were patented they'd a stole the idea. On the eGo class PV's the cone will cover a good part of the carto. . .easy way to know how much juice is in your carto. I think these things will sell like hot cakes. JMHO

Cheers,

Thanks for the clarification. Yeah, I keep refilling mine, but after while they aren't dead, but they start tasting funny. So you don't clean yours? Don't they taste odd or get hard to draw after a while?

The CE-2 carts look very intriguing. Any idea when they plan to release them? No filler certainly would simplify things....

vapwench: I'm sorry I didn't clarify what that was...it is as others have said, the CE2 R4 cartomizer with syringe tube mod so that you can see how much liquid is left in the chamber...as the internal diameter syringe tube is just some tenths or hundreds of a millimeter larger than the original CE2 metal tube, it helps with the wicking action...however, these babies are wonderful and provide good flavor, but not with every flavor out there, I noticed a few of my liquids prefer to be in the filler cartos rather than in CE2s...you just have to try it out yourself

but CE2s they are prone to leaking because they have a filler hole, it is not 100% airtight (not that bad, you'll keep them vertical at almost all the time and you'll get through with it)

if you like the filler cartos, you can get the regular 510 or the XL 510 cartomizers for the eGo...you can also do a similar mod using the syringe tube, i've done that too to avoid drying out my cartos...it helps me to know when i should drip in some liquid...they're not super hard to do but do take some learning curve, as for now i can easily complete one carto mod in under 5 mins...super easy once you get the hang of it

clearomizers? i don't even want to try it...you see the purpose of the syringe tube mod is not just to see how much liquid is left, but the main purpose of it is so that you can easily take the guts out from the syringe tube (trust me, it helps so much to clean this like i've describe in my earlier post) and put it back together and perform like new, syringe tube mod will prolong the life of your CE2...i'm positive that you can't take the clearomizer apart and put it back without having leakage problem

Yeah, I'm swamped with a full time job, going to school and running a couple online businesses, so I don't have time for all sorts of modding, and what free time I do have is taken up with housecleaning, reading and playing with my 5 dogs, or going camping with my hubby or doing our black powder competition shooting.

I just want to be able to fill and go. So far, the only modding I do is cutting the filler in my ego cartridges in half and putting in a coffee stirrer piece to increase air flow. Beyond that, I want to be able to fill and grab a handful of carts (don't care if they're cartridges or cartomizers, so long as they work) and go to the next thing on my schedule...

if that is the case, keep on trying and see what fits you, hope this suggestion could help you to decide :) ...my suggestion for you, you don't need a heavy mod...just use the 510 filler carto with delrin drip tips on, that way you can easily drip a few drops from time to time...just bring a 10ml bottle with ya! cheers and happy vaping

arjay55, yeah, you can imagine how tired it makes *me*, LOL......most of the time I'm not sure if I'm coming or going. I snatch minutes here and there to refill my cartridges or cartos, pack 'em in my case and hit the road for the next thing. I sleep well, tho, way too tired to do much else!

mahfudz_mn - it is a cool idea, I just don't have the energy or time to futz around with mods all that much. I do keep my little case with my 4 ego batteries, several filled cartridges and cartomizers, plus a couple 10ml bottles of juice. When I travel I have a bag full o goodies with me. I'm hoping the CE2 carts I ordered last week will help fill the gap of things, and I'll ditch my E9 and 808 carts forever, and pass the batteries onto someone else who wants to get started vaping.

I love my Ego batteries tho!!

the CE2 will do you a lot of good compared to you mega filler carto, i notice you mentioned your husband plays around with gun powder, so he might be able to help you to syringe tube mod those CE2s. Trust me, without the mod, you will be frustrated as well...you'll have to bring syringes to refill your CE2 everytime...and that's not good
