Cleaning tank before changing juice?

I would assume the tank would either need to be either changed or cleaned, prior to switching up juice flavors. As of now, I only have one cartomizer/tank on-hand, and am expecting my new juice to arrive any day now. Can I simply empty out the tank as best possible and change juices? Or this this frowned upon? I don't mind a few puffs of residual flavor , but if it's gonna muck up my entire batch then id prefer to get a new tank for each new flavor juice.

Using eGo V2 at moment by the way.

The nice thing about vaping is that there are few hard and fast rules. You do it YOUR way. Better'n Burger King!

You don't HAVE to clean out your tank, you can put a new flavor over an old one if you like. I've come up with interesting flavor combinations that way. Of course, if the flavors aren't compatible (Dragon Fruit over Bacon, or something like that, ewwww!), you'll want to clean your tank.

You can rinse it out with hot water if it's a weak flavor and have no trouble. Something strong will require more drastic measures. Me, I use a 2:1 solution of water and white vinegar for flavor changing. Some people use alcohol like pure grain alcohol (Everclear) or vodka, but white vinegar removes odors like nothing else IMHO. Soak your tank in the vinegar solution for maybe an hour, then rinse it very thoroughly. Dry burn the wick and rinse again, let dry. That should eliminate the chance of any flavor crossover.

Or you can do what many do, pick up a new tank each time you get a new flavor. Disposable CE4 tanks are usually 5 bucks at most vape shops and online, and a good way to get about trucking along with a fresh flavor labor free.

Hey there Panzerfaust,
It would depend on the change in the pluid.
A real flavor change, say menthol to blueberry, ya might want to soak and rinse the tank and coil.

:2c:
Strawberry to blueberry, what the heck......pour out the other, fill up with the new
and vape through the combination for a little bit.
Just went from a citrius to blueberry, no cleaning, nice combo for the first couple of toots....
No frowns here.....should not muck anything up, before your next pluid change.

I use cotton wicks (sterile cotton from CVS, lifetime supply for $3) so to remove that, wash the coil I wrapped, dry burn it, rinse, dry it....takes a short time, meanwhile ive cleaned out my tank and its ready for new juice. Sticking a new wick in is not a big deal, then just wet it down with juice its its ready.

I like the flavors to be distinct, but mixing some can be ok too...Alice in Vapelands's April Moon to wet the cotton/prime it and then a tank of Ahlusion Blueberry-Vanilla cake is not bad.

It's up to you. Some flavors might get a little mixed up if you don't clean the tank. Cartos will retain much more flavor and liquid than tanks.

I usually clean carto tanks that get more or less constant use every 7-10 days, each time I swap out the carto. That's for sanitary reasons. Antibacterial dishwashing liquid works for me.
