I clean my threads when my batteries start not working well
I really should do it more often.
I think more importance should be place on the cleaning of our vaping equipment. Even drip tips can get pretty nasty if you let them. I think since I started using the reo and the rm2 atomizer, things are easier to keep pristine because they are so simple to use. But I used a lot of Everclear when I was using evods and ProTanks. (for cleaning, not drinking)

We have one of those blue toilet disks. I just put my whole mod in and flush it a few times. Comes out sparkling clean.
Everything gets wiped down after filling up. Usually with one of those wet wipe dealies. And the 510 connection on my batteries gets a cotton swab every night before bed. All my tanks get a thorough washing once every two weeks or so too.
My mods get cleaned to maintain the conductivity. Drip tips get flushed with tap water every few days to get the dead skin off them. Nothing else gets cleaned unless I'm rebuilding and give parts a water rinse to get juice off to make it easier to work with. Both VG and PG are antimicrobial so nothing alive is going to flourish in juice. Works for me, but YMMV
I clean off my drip tips whenever there is a noticeable build up of crud on them, dry burn my coils when they are gunked up, and clean contacts and put Deoxit Gold on them every once in a while. No set schedule.
