Clearomizer Choice Advice

I am in the process of switching from my Ego-C's to clearomizers since I find the latter to be a bit more friendly but have had some issues choosing reliable ones. Right off the bat let me state that I loath e-cigs with batting (no pun intended) as I have had very negative experiences with them in the past. The last clearomizers I experimented with were the Ego Vision 3's and what I think were some variant of the CE-4.

The CE-4 worked wonderfully until after a week or two of use each developed a burning taste that I could not seem to get rid of. This is unfortunate since the long wicks avoided the problem I have with the Vision 3's which has been that since their small wicks are located at the top of the carto it becomes difficult to get any liquid to the wicks when the clearomizer drops below half full.

I desperately need some advice on where to go from here since I'm a grad student and cannot afford the time to learn to take these things apart and fix them when they should not need to be fixed in the first place.

Thanks in advance!

You may want to look at CE-3's. I've heard they are pretty good. They are bottom fed, so you don't have to keep tipping it over. I know the Phoenix is a variety, but I think it is on back order right now. I have a CE-3 in the mail right now called the Smokymizer. I'll post about it once I get it.

I like the stardusts. They now have rebuildable ones, so that when you can't get that burnt taste out, a new atty is $3, instead of $6 for a whole new one. They also appear to be easier to clean thoroughly. They are meant to be disposable. I don't think there's any atty/cart/clearo that is meant to be durable.

My go to clearo is the CE3 from Discount Vapers. I think he has some in stock right now. I really like how easy they are to fill even though you do have to use a syringe and fill them up side down. The taste is good and the amt of vapor is outstanding.

Sorry, I was wrong. Eric @ DV is out right now too but he usually re-stocks really quick. Sadly he has to deal with manuf. that aren't as on the ball as he is.

On another note, try the Kanger T2 CC. These things work great for me, hold 2.4 ml of juice, look good on an ego, and work fantastic. They are also rebuildable just by unscrewing the coil and screwing on a new one; at a lower price than buying a new one. They are also called the Sunfire at ivape. You can find replacement coils in 4 different resistances, great vapor, and great flavor.

I have a CE-3 in the mail right now called the Smokymizer.

Where did you order those from? I had some a while back but the usual places I order from stopped carrying them because people found them difficult to use. I love them though! Just make sure you keep a condom on it when you fill it and hold it upside down (threads up, drip tip down) when you screw it onto your battery.

There is another version of the smokymizers (kinda) called the X7 or something. Bottom coil, no small rubber cork, and a LED inside. I haven't tried them yet but I plan on ordering some soon.

Somewhere out there
I've tried quite a few, the Phoenix had too many duds, I only had 3 work temporarily out of 7, so was not impressed with the failure rate. I tried the Apollo tank which is just a giant clearo, it did not perform well either, bad taste after about 3 puffs. So far for me for best flavor and performance is the CE4 and the Kanger clearos bottom coil. I did burn one Kanger, but they usually work great for a couple weeks then they get tasting plastic and also start to get cracks. The CE 4 works well, but the one i have had a crack when I got it, so it is leaking, but as far as flavor and good hits, I like it. bnrk

CE3s are great, unless they have the word "Smokeymizer" after that. I've bought a 5 pack of CE3 XLs from Discount Vapers for $10 and the Phoenix is at GotVapes, but is always sold out.

CE3s aren't just bottom coil, but the housing is polypropylene so you don't have to worry about your cinnamon/lemon/licorice destroying them.

I've also got a Kangar T2 that I like. $5 at DV and the heads are $2. It's your standard top feed with about 1cm long wicks. I find it has a hard pull, actually, but I'm not fond of the Stardusts, though probably for a poor reason since it was just me cracking one.

I'll probably pick up a DCT style, but from Valley Vapes in Polypro rather than the traditional Polycarbonate that you have to worry about cracking. I'll run a single coil 1.7 in it though.

OH, and the CE3s don't tend to like thick juice. So if you're a VG person, like I was at first but I'm having to get away from that, then they really don't get the juice at the rate they want it. But that's true for a lot of things.

Another DV CE3 user. A small puff of air into the top of the tube will help it fill. So will a slight squeeze in the middle of the tube. Too much of either will make it leak out the bottom so keep a tissue handy until you get the knack. :vapor:

You shouldn't get any leak if you fill it upside down, pushing the air out the bottom rather than trying to push the liquid out to make room.

Are you cleaning out the CE's every 2-3 fills by chance? If you are, are you dry burning them? As for the top coil/wick issue anything that is TC needs alittle tip once in awhile or the wicks will get dry and start burning. I use short wicks and just simply tip it once in awhile so the juice can get to the wicks.

These are awesome. Been using gotvapes Phoenix BC which is the same thing (and out of stock too) Lots of vapor and clean flavor

The first box of Phoenix BC's was the greatest thing ever! Refilled them tons of times, no leaks and great vape. My second box was all pieces of crap--didn't fire right, no real holes so I was ramming some blunt needle through solid rubber. I agree with the poster that said too many duds. I've got some more otw from different vendor. Gonna use them until the vivi minis are solid and going to try to move to those if I like them. PBCs are awesome if they work and crap if they don't.
