KGO 1100mAh
SLB 2.0ohm EGO Clearomizers

1. I have been using a SLB 2.0ohm EGO Clearomizer and am on day 4 and am now starting to have to "prime puff" (I think it's called) after I turn on my KGO I have to take a quick drag with almost no vapor before getting a good amount of vapor. Does this mean I need to clean it? I have a day or two left of my current flavor before I'm out and (hopefully) my sampler pack is here so I'm hoping it will make until then. Am I on the right track with this thought?

2. Can I clean this by "rocking" them apart like I have read to do for others?

3. I would like to try some new clearomizers, I have been reading and watching youtube videos until my eyes hurt about bottom coil versions and I think I would like to try them. The reviews I have read/watched all talk about different voltages and ohm ratings of the clearomizers. I really don't yet understand all the technical lingo yet so what is recommended for my KGO battery?

4. Obviously they all have to be cleaned, are some models more "newb friendly" than others.

5. There are soo many options out there, what are your personal favorites and where do you buy?

Trust me, I've searched and searched, but I lack some of the more basic knowledge and it makes it a bit confusing when I am reading the threads of you veterans.

p.s. This is day 4 without cigarettes, I've been to the bars, eaten big meals, and been in a vehicle with a smoker for a long period of time and never once wanted a cigarette with my KGO around. I can't begin to express my appreciation to you guys for giving me what feels like the first genuine chance of staying cigarette free. Thank you all so much!

1. The prime puff is fine, your coil is going to need a second to get hot, thats why most people prime to get the juice going.

2. Sorry I can't help, not sure of the "rocking" your referring too.

3. I like the stardust or Vision V3 rebuildables, easy maintenance and disassembly.

4. Refer to previous post.

5. My personal favorites are Vivi Nova tanks (v2.5) or the genesis rebuildable atomizers (but they're not beginner friendly). I like GotVapes cause I trust their VVN tanks are v2.5 and also ecigcharleston for their flat rate $1.99 shipping.

Hope that helps, congrats on your 4 days cig free. :toast:

I can't comment on your KGO, but I do have a 510/eGo 900 mah passthough. I'm not a veteran, per say, but my family has been vaping for about 2 years now. I learned a *lot* from their mistakes. I now rebuild my cartos all the time and I'd recommend you have a look at the "vivi nova stardust" carto. They are 1.6 ml sized (fits ego) and are easy to take apart to clean and rebuild. The coils are also compatible with the vivi nova tanks which I use and enjoy very much. You can't beat the price and so far they seem to be reliable and not leak prone like most other cheaper cartos. I bought mine and gotvapes.com. (I am just a customer, no affiliation).

Yeah, my first ecig purchase was an ego kit from Gotvapes, and i'm loyal to a fault, but sometimes you gotta stretch your wings too. Plenty of great vendors out their, I recommend checking out the forum suppliers list at the first page. Reading up there is always a good idea on what to expect when ordering.

Hi rdean,
Your Ego clearomizer is similar to a stardust. If vapor production goes down after a while then it probably does need a clean. If by "rocking" you mean half filling with water then gently swooshing - that is done to clean clearos. But I don't know your type exactly.

I think the bottom coils you refer to are the Kanger T3s - they have been getting good reviews. The Vision mini vivi novas would also go with your KGO. Those have wicks. If you buy a vivi nova make sure its a Vision.
I like the Vivi novas myself. I've found them much better that stardust type clearomizers and they haven't leaked at all.
T3s are becoming very popular.

Thanks, the rocking I am referring to is what I have heard is the way to dissaemble a clearomizer.

Skip to 2:35 to see what I am talking about.

Also, when you say tanks, is that a different term for the bottom coil clearomizers or a different product all together?

Kiwivap: the names I am hearing the most are the Kanger T3, Phoenix Bottom Coil, and the CE3. What what I have heard the Phoenix and CE3 are pretty much the same thing correct? I just figured on getting one of them but when going to the stores I see a massive array of clearomizers and now gardnerd4me has added a few more products to check out ;-) and my brain is starting to hurt.

I would like to eventually try a large variety of products but for now I am looking for something that is gonna be a good next step from the clearomizers that came with my kit.

Sorry for your brain fart, was not my intention to produce one. Yeah, I tried that rocking when my kit came from Gotvapes. It had ego stardusts and they could only be taken apart through force. The newer V3's from vision can be taken apart by simply unscrewing, and I think they leak less. I haven't tried the T3's yet, but I hear good thing about them. I really only use clearomizers when I want to take a trip into the sun for a bit, the rest of the time I use the Vivi tank or my geni.

I've used CE3s. Got great taste from them, but... fiddly - had to use a syringe to fill them and got tired of that quickly. Also would suddenly start leaking after a while. I found them too sensitive. I'd clean some and they'd be fine, others weren't.

I'd say try a couple of T3s. I'd leave rebuildable atomizers for later and get something that works first. Then if you're interested tinker with rebuildables. But read up about them.
For you right now your best options are probably the Vision mini vivi nova, or T3. So I agree with gardner on those. :) Maybe try one of each.

Link to the V3? Don't worry about the brain fart, I am on the verge of mental shart.

Ce3s are different to what you have. Look up Ego clearomizers or stardusts.

I am looking to try something a little different. The only thing I really don't have interest in is cartridges.

- I like how the clearomizers are, well, clear. I never have to guess if I'm getting low.
- The most leak resistance option would be preferable, I take this thing everywhere.
- Relatively easy to clean

Great job! Keep up the great work! I'm working on day 3 myself. This place is wonderful. I can't wait to see my sister at Thanksgiving to sell her on a PV. Here's hoping!

That's interesting, the big thing drawing me to the Phoenix was all the videos of people tossing them around and dropping them and claiming how they "absolutely do not leak"

Haha I'm right there with you, my sister started smoking about a year ago. After doing it myself for 10 years I don't want her to go down the same path.

Starting smoking is the single biggest mistake of my life - and she wasn't even that hot. ;)

They can leak, and when they do they absolutely leak. On the other hand, I've not ever had a leak from a vivi nova.
I have heard the T3s are pretty good that way too.

Okay, now I have a bunch of 10ml bottles of juice on the way, with a single vivi nova, how would the cleaning/changeover process go?

The t3s are good at leaking or not leaking? (brain shart in full effect)

My brother seems to like those CE3 clear ones. He says they are kind of a pain to maintain (ha I'm a poet!) but says they taste a lot better than the regular cartomizers. I personally can't tell a difference really, they just hit a bit stronger but really taste the same to me.

I'm not ready for any "pain" just quit yet.
