Sure you could theoretically invent a radically different switching system, but a horn switch with a custom assembly isn't even close to patent eligible. It would have to be truely unique and never seen before.

I have a question. Way back before I really got into vaping, I bought a sort of pen type device that had no button and it switched on when I inhaled. How does that work? Would that have been considered as an example of a radically different switching system and therefore be eligible for a patent?

Yes, that would be different enough to get a patent. In fact someone probably does have one.
It's a pressure switch.
It's not really like a mechanical switch.

OK, Trademark.
Wouldn't that be enough to send a C&D to cloners?
Perhaps. Actually, the easier avenue to pursue is the US distributor(s) with a C&D order.
Trademark litigation is difficult and expensive to pursue. Threats are usually good enough, but not always effective.
Patent litigation is easy: just take the case to East Texas. Just ask the tech firms. It's a Troll Village there.

I'm sorry, I want to rant about clones. Note to China: PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO CONTROL CLONES.

Everything is being cloned these days, even clones are being cloned. I mean it's bad enough that Chinese factories are making copies of well engineered hardware, but even Chinese invented hardware is being copied.

For example, I just bought a Uwell Crown RTA, cost $23, but I had to weed through clones that cost under $20. I mean doesn't anyone care in China? The clones are probably being made in a factory just down the block.

I get clones help the regular guy afford a well engineered products, and I have bought clones too, but please try and buy the real thing whenever possible. This is the only way to curb cloning it seems. Also stick to your local vape shop or online (in-country). Fasttech should be your last option.

Sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone, I just care about the people behind authentic products, even if it's Chinese authentic.

Vape on

I hate to disagree but as my Avatar shows I've got 4 verified sub ohmers and all have at least one or two things that bother me in construction ... pretty hard for a clone to get too shoddy ... its all boxs of plastic , glass, with either metal or plastic push buttons ... it's the 'no brainer' simplicity of these things that almost begs cloning .... can you really notice differences between pure stainless and chromed brass ?
