I got my silver and brass one from fasttech yesterday. I wasn't expecting much for the price, but my low expectations weren't even met. What a hunk of junk. The 510 connector was completely stripped, and it feels like it is made out of old soda cans. Absolutely useless and inoperable. Again, I wasn't expecting too much, but this is a terribly cheap clone. I have bought tons of stuff from fasttech, and this is actually the first time I have been disappointed. Oh well, into the Frankenstein box with all the other pieces of broken stuff it goes. I really need to curve my impulse buying impulses.

I regret to say that I actually agree with you man. My connections weren't stripped or anything however my frikkin locking ring won't screw. Like its glued or some ..... I don't know why everyone hyped it up to be such a good mod. I mean it fires great but there is wayyyy too many imperfections that just render the mod one of the lowest on my list. So disappointing, waited 2 weeks for it too >.>
Good thing I held off on buying this one. I'm sure it works well for some people but it's a hit and miss with clones.

Yes my buddy got the aluminum one and it is indeed JUNK. But my Brass version on the other hand.....it's AWESOME! I tore the mod completely down and got to playing with it and i'm impressed! The bottom button switch is completely adjustable. I like the way it locks as well. And the thing is HEAVY! Feels really really good in the hand! Also the 510 connection is adjustable. With a RSST @ .5 ohm this thing hits HARD! I HIGHLY recommend the Brass version and will likely shoot a vid on it.

I just got a two tone one in yesterday from fasttech and it is really nice. The crosshatching of the center tube on mine wasnt done very well on the bottom half, but otherwise it is perfect. It hits great and threads really smooth. A tank airflow controller on this wouldnt be the worst idea actually for both versions of this mod since brass and aluminum are softer metals. I do get some battery wobble with my efest 18350 flat tops, but i just use a 18650 in it for now until i build a spacer. I have been using a sigelei 19 the past few weeks and i like how the aluminum v3 is so much lighter(makes it much more pocket friendly), where the brass would weigh about the same. Overall for under $18 shipped its a awesome deal

I received my two V3's from Fastech, got one of each. Two Mods for $35 including shipping, what's not to like? Aluminum is soft, so some care is in order, but the threading as supplied is very good. Floating post, simple and reliable bottom switch, mix and match brass and aluminum, and the voltage drop is as low as units costing X20 this.
I am not in love with the knurled center section looks with 18500's, but I came up with a solution I like.
Threads are the same as a Bolt, so I added the Kick sleeve as shown. Mine was red, but you can buy a bunch of color options - http://www.madvapes.com/catalogsearch/result/?order=relevance&dir=desc&q=bolt+extender Still leaves a couple mm gap, but an o-ring solves that. You could use two Bolt sleeves for a clean 18650 set up.

I'm considering getting one of these myself but have a question: Is there a noticeable performance drop between the two tone and the all brass? I thumbed through and the closest I saw to answer to this was "brass is a better conductor" but I don't think anyone mentioned if there was a noticeable difference between the two.

But I can't tell a difference here when I tried them before mixing and matching. Brass, like Stainless, is not the best conductor but is more rugged.
