The aluminum body parts ought to be plenty durable. The main concern I have is with the aluminum threads on the 510 connector. It would only take one time, carrying it in your pocket with a loose attie on there, to destroy those threads. Even a tight connection could give way with enough bending force. The Al top cap model is best left at home imo.

I've had my aluminum version for a couple of weeks now, and the 510 threads have definitely gotten worse. I've stuck a shorty adapter on it so I don't have to mess with the threads, but now it looks stupid.

I dunno why i never googled it myself when i got lost in all the hype of "all brass" mods. I guess the only reason there was a hype was because most other mods that got a brass version were initally released in stainless steel (ie sigelei 19). So i can see why one would opt for the brass for better conductivity in that case, and may sacrifice the extra durability that stainless has. But in this case of the sentinel, it seems like people opting for the brass are going more for durability than conduction. So clearly all the claims that the brass v3 will "hit harder" than the two-tone, and i have seen a few such statements, are unjustified. As ethebull showed, and i followed up, aluminum is listed as having 61% conductivity of copper and brass is only 28% as conductive as copper. However the two tone and brass have the same contact points and the middle section is identical brass as well. So what would be the added is the two extension tubes and the 510 connector that will be better conductors than their respective parts on the brass model, and this may amount to almost no difference in noticeable vape quality.
Essentially the brass is more durable, yes, but it can in no way be a better vape than the two-tone (unless the materials are different than listed on the site), it can only perform noticeably just as good or worse. And i have my agi on it and its not coming off anytime soon, 5 different gennys for 5 differnt mechs, so threads will be spared for a while.

wish a had a brass v3 to do a side by side. But will do one when i get my all brass tvs clone

I bought two V3s from Fastech, one all brass, one AL/brass. I can't tell any difference in vape quality between the two. Like you say, there's brass pins at both ends and the brass threaded sleeve on the aluminum one.

I decided to go with some mix n' matching just for aesthetics. A little silver with my brass looks nice to me.

Replacement top caps in brass would be a welcome offering. (hint hint, nudge nudge)

Except the aluminum version has brass contacts... So in that case the conductivity would be the same? Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are pretty much right on target with that thought. The positive brass pin is the bottle neck here due to its relatively small cross section. You could have an all Silver body (silver is the conductivity champ) and electrons would still get backed up at this point of maximum resistance. The good news is the voltage drop on these is about as low as anything out there. With in .15 volts of the best, judging from the reviews out there. Under $20 to boot.

Yes but to get the tubes tight enough that it's not rocking all over the place it pushes up the positive posts. Actually hard shorted my battery earlier cuz it went to far up.

This why im not a big fan of floating pins, you have too be carful tightening the Mod,i perfer the Adjustable pins like on the Natural Telelscope.

Hey Rocker, how goes the battle? :) Can I get the link from you for the rope? PM me if you like.

I finally got the Sentinel Clone this morning and it is light for sure. Got it the way I like it in 18350 and it is a super little mod, vapes very well. The biggest downfall I can see right away is the 510 threading, don't think it will stand up to much abuse so I decided to just use 1 or 2 different tanks on it. It's great for out and about.

I just received my TVS Diablo Clone from FastTech. $16.78 for an all brass mechanical mod? Sounds too good to be true? Definitely not. This little beauty fires true. Hardly any voltage drop (I also use great batteries). But jeez. I cannot believe the quality of this mod. Aside for some cosmetic "stains" maybe in the coat, this is a fantastic buy.
My only complaint about this, aside from minor cosmetic Cadillac problems, is the weight. It's a bit heavy, but in no way a deterant from purchasing. I have already ordered two more nearly one hour after receiving this in the mail.

For under 17 bucks? You have nothing to lose IMO.

I have yet to order the sentinel clone, but if it's even half as satisfactory as the TVS Diablo Clone from FastTech, count me in for two of them ;)

Hey dill,
I posted this a few days ago and got no response http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/uk-forum/445891-tvs-all-brass-mod.html
I have already ordered one from f/t, and now i have something else to look forward too.

I have got the sentinel clone and it hits fantasticaly, straight from the box. I got the alli/brass, but i see the V3 is all brass.

It is in my wishlist as i type:laugh:

My tvs, all brass and aluminum sentienel arrived last Sat. All three performs really well, but The machining stain and scratches on the all brass Is less to be desired. Only flaw was on the aluminum sentinel, the center pin popped out with plastic casing. All in all, im happy with the price and purchase.

That is what i like about mech`s,

If something pops out...pop it back in again.I love them for that. Simplicity in it`s simpleist form.

Amen.
I'm a notorious mod dropper and mechanical durablilty is what initially sold me on mechs.
Some year later, begining to utilize and appreciate the unregulated beauty that is a mechanical mod :D

Got my v3 "golden" mod from fasttech today. For the price, I'm very impressed. It's quite heavy and shorter than my other mods. The end caps are brass, i think. The middle section is probably aluminum. My only complaint is that the lockout is not reverse threaded - and it spins endlessly in the fully locked position. It's a bit wobbly, too, when you stand the locked out mod up. It doesnt fall over, though, or fire under its osn weigt. All in all, it seems like a great mod - looking forward to spending more time with it. Even now , I can already say its worth the price. Very nice for a sub-$20 mod!

If you remove the end cap you can place your finger on the firing pin to screw in the button to where you like. It can be screwed in enough to when you lock it it doesn't spin in place.

Thanks! Easy fix and it doesn't wobble anymore, either.
