I just received one of these today from fasttech, called their "V3 MOD Telescoping Electronic Cigarette Battery Compartment" and got it along with a pair of "Panasonic NCR18650 Rechargeable 2900mAh 3.7V 18650 Li-ion Batteries" and a "Portable Digital Battery Charger for 18650 Rechargeable Batteries". The batteries came with a charge on them, the charger seems to work, and the grand total to my door was just over $33. I placed the order on 8/6/2013 and it arrived at my house this morning, 8/17/2013.

I got the solid brass "gold" model, and so far other than one small issue I am very impressed with it. It is very heavy and solid as an army tank.

The issue I have is that my Kanger Protanks do not fit on it in a way that allows any air draw at all. If I unscrew them a bit and or unscrew the MOD's parts a bit I get a draw, but screwed in flush, with the MOD parts screwed tight, it is airtight and you can't draw on it at all.

After some tinkering I solved the problem by drilling out the Kanger base air holes slightly (the holes in the 510 threading), and using an EVO/510 adapter screwed into the MOD, also expanding the air holes in the adapter slightly, and screwing a beauty ring onto the adapter (also with 2 air holes drilled into it). Problem completely solved! I can get air thru it, and it all fits solid as a rock and has a very nice steam-punk look to it.

The problem I experienced was probably due to the 510 threading in the MOD being flush with the top of the MOD itself, rather than being a design that sticks up a bit, like in an EGO. This in no way is a bad thing, and with other tanks may not be an issue, and I was able to fix it quite handily. If I did not happen to have an EGO to 510 adapter sitting in my e-cig supply box it may have been a different story.

It vapes just fine, and is my first MOD so far, my having been using a pair of 1300mAh EGO type batteries with Kangers for the past year or so, and I have no doubt I will be able to vape all day on it.

Pick up the the RSST and use SS cable and your set for life.

@ Jaseruckus:

I love the ribbing,it helps too get a good gripin 18350 mode when using the button,it dont look that sexy but id rather functionally over looks,i feel sad now my Natural is collecting dust.

I can understand the functionality, I was caught off guard of how well this little mod performed when I got it. I guess I'm just not much into ribbing other than baby back ribs. Being filipino, I feel bad that I don't find most of the pinoy mods that appealing. The Nzonic V3 looks great to me but all the others with that ribbing is too much for me to pay $150+. Maybe it has to do with me starting with the greek mods. From a Roller or a GP paps looking very smooth and simple to a Sentinel clone body. That's a major difference in form factor. One side is fighting to keep everything looking simple and elegant, while the other one just wants to let the inner wild side out. Lol

I played around with rewicking my Protank today, after buying come Peaches & Creme white cotton yarn at Wal-Mart. Worked great by the way, and 2 pieces of that yarn in place of the original wicking completely solved my Protank flooding issues.

But as I was already tinkering with the rig again I decided to mod my mod a bit. I didn't like how the locking ring did not always like to actually tighten in the locked position, even after tightening the firing button as much as it would tighten. It would just always unscrew or the locking ring would just spin and risk the thing firing in my pocket. Not a good feeling.

So I took apart the bottom of the mod, and removed the firing button and locking ring. I put one drop of superglue on the firing button threading and re-installed it without the locking ring, as that thing was just too much of a hassle and too unreliable for my tastes. A 5 minute trip from work to the local Home Depot and I had a solid brass 5/8" compression cap which fit perfectly over the firing button, and looks good, with another plus being this thing never misses a fire at all anymore and it is much easier to fire as well.

Here are a few photos of how the mod came out looking:

With the ego to 510 adapter and inverted cone sleeve on the top (I have a brass version coming in the mail as well) it really looks like a mini lightsaber now!

How too make the bottom switch work better:

I just clamped the bottom pin in a pair of vise grips and use an axe saw too make a slot, slots are good,i like slots. :p:D

VV I also inserted a small very thin copper washer inside the pin and nut connection as i found it helps too snug it up tighter and as a bonus i get better conductivity V V

That ''real'' Sentinal is way overpriced, just like everything else on that site.

You know what that's what pisses me off about these mod makers. yes they put time and effort into there mods i can respect that but in no way does it cost so much to make there mods that they have to charge those outrageous prices. Like damn really 200 bucks for a aluminum and brass device? ...

If you were to hold one, see it in person and if you knew what it took to make one, you'd understand. I work at a machine shop and I can't get the material for the price of this clone. Then take into the account the man-hours it takes for the flawless threading, a true mirror like polish polish and the hand engraving....

Sent via the guys that made Star Trek low tech.

Of course you cant get the materials for the clones price you're in the US.The original is made in the Philippines and selling it for 200 US dollars is alot of profit for them your paying for the brand. This clone hits just as hard as the original sentinel for 1 10th of the price if you round it up to 20 dollars. i believe the original to be over priced i have np paying money for something i deem worthy of an example would be my provari i had np dishing out the cash. This mod's materials do not justify the cost for me it just doesn't. :matrix:
