I have to think they have a their own place on the market. I have bought one of the 3.1kayfuns by EhPro and liked it so much I went and bought the original authentic 3.1 so I am glad I got to try it as a clone first and made sure the money was well spent . I have been burned in the past on large ticket items ..How many of you guys bought a clone to try and then opted for the real deal?

I picked up an hcigar kafun light clone and loved it so got a kebo russian 91%. They both are wonderful. Picked up 2 more hcigar kayfun clones as they out perform most of the tanks I have and I enjoy setting up the coils/wicks. I may get an original kayfun....in a few months as my vaping budget is down to maintenance juice. :toast:

Anybody who drops over $100 on a single vape toy will from there on be compelled to defend it from any criticism and to try and prove its superiority by any means necessary. Simple human psychology really, admitting your super expensive original is no better than a chinese knockoff would a) degrade the practical value of your toy b) make you feel stupid for buying your toy. People are terrified by both of these whether they know it or not.

I even have this funny story - a while ago, my uncle saw me vaping my vamo+aga t2 at a family event (some funeral). He asked me how much it cost and after i told him "about €100" he proudly got out his ego tank(like needle tank) stick (which he bought for €140) and started explaining to me how his was the superior item. so many silent facepalms that day.

Some clones are good, some are bad.

Love my hcigar nemesis and 69. Love my ehpro Caravella. HATE my origin clone.
LOVE my kayfun light "black edition." Spent about a week messing around with my hcigar kayfun 3.1 before i figured out there was a section of the juice channel that wasn't machined out...thus my continual juice flow problem. Love my first Aqua (red o rings) Like the Tobeco version, but definitely not as much.

Now, I suppose there is an argument to be made that I have wasted SOME money. But If you take a walk over to the APV and or rebuildable section, a lot of the "issues" with any particular item can be found on the originals as well. (not the machining issue on my kayfun though lol)

Had i bought all of these items OEM, I would be very, very broke. As it is, I decided to order a hcigar squape yesterday, just to try out.

Maybe you haven't owned a overpriced original. Cheap copies are just cheap.

No I do not own an 'overpriced' original RTA, RBA or RDA, and never will. Doesn't make any sense to me at all.

Just because an item is inexpensive does not necessarily mean that it's 'cheap'. When something is called cheap it usually means it's poorly made.
I can attest to the fact that the HCigar clones I own of the Taifun GT and the Kayfun 3.1 ES are definitely not 'cheap' by any means.
Very high quality, materials, machining, etc. and the quality is top notch. They vape extremely well and they're very durable too.

Maybe it's my German ancestry or my Arapaho Indian... I'm just being frugal is all.

IF a vaper wants to own an original then more power to them... that's their prerogative. It's still somewhat of a free country we live in and a somewhat free marketplace too. (Regardless of what the past and current presidential administrations have done to shred the Constitution.)

A large number of vapers can only afford clones and so the market is there to fulfill those needs.
(I don't see a need to go into Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs though.)

So are you going to troll this thread for the duration, or what? Just trying to figure out if I should get gensui ready or not .... I'm in one of those moods :glare:

Get em! Speed racer, why go down that road and just piss people off when clearly it's an already argumentative subject that is merely preference? You wanna pay high prices for originals go ahead, I myself only own genuine vaping miss and rdas at this point but I'm ordering a hcigar nemi clone just after this post.

I mean really, it's about what makes the individual happy, and as much as you may get under some peoples skin, the vast majority doesn't care about the negativity you can bring. :whistles:

Simply put... To each their own.

I won't buy clones because they are not exciting to me. The thrill of hunting down and original is as enjoyable as vaping for me. So, all original all the way in my book.

But, others are after only a quality vape. Many clones deliver that at a low cost. Go for it.

The only clones I have an issue with are the ones that use the same name, engravings, logos, and what not. Those are counterfeits. Counterfeits are never Ok, in any market.

My "upgrade" battery was a Spinner 1300 copy. I ordered a "real" Spinner. It was defective. Seller replaced it, you can't thread the tank all the way down (regardless of what tank it is) on the new one or the thing fires up. I'll keep it as my 3rd backup. I went back & bought a 2nd Spinner copy. Just because something is "original" doesn't mean it's better. I look for quality, not brand name. Just my .02
