For the most part, clone mods work just as well as the original...it's just a tube and battery if you're into mechs. I have a few originals and a lot of clones and my clones rock. I'm almost embarrassed I bought originals at times. Clone atomizers are a different story. This is where clouds are made and some attys are hit or miss, but so are some original attys. I haven't gotten any clone yet that has been crap. If you're budget minded, give them a try.

I have a mix of both. In a blind test, I wouldn't bet any money I could tell the difference. I bought one original MOD because I appreciated the design and craftsmanship, and it wasn't $300, lol. I have two russians (really just a clone of the KFL, but better) and an EHPRO KFL clone. Setup properly, they are very good. With that said, I can stick on a $10 Aspire BDC atty tank and be just fine. I like variety :)

I'm going to play devils advocate here. I have an IGO-L from FastTech that is great. I bought it to replace a Youde (the original) that had crap threads to begin with and my brother, God love him, decided to pick up my itaste and tighten the IGO well he tightened it allright. Stripped the threads right out. I was able to use a 510 to ego for a while but I had to purposely crossthread it onto the IGO and eventually it crapped out. So yes they can be good and they can be bad. Read all reviews.

in many cases these past few months many of the clones are just as good function wise as the originals. I believe in supporting original manufacturers for some items. so i own very few clones but there are situations where I have bought an original and then purchased a clone to have another of the same item, several items are hard to get, expensive or even both, so in that case there is nothing wrong with a clone.

a good example is I picked up a brass nemesis mod, no one has any idea when the real ones will ever be in stock again. hard to tell its not real.

A year ago not many felt clones were worth the money, and they werent but today many are made to be almost identical in every way to the originals and many times it is almost impossible to tell them apart. I have a Taifun ($170) and a Taifun clone ($25) except for one screw you cannot see the difference without deep inspection. i think it is one of the best atty's ever, but only one of them is available right now without a preorder.

if you do some research and be careful about what cloned item you buy you will get more then your moneys worth.

Well, clones can work, some better than others. A shining example is the Russsian 91% vs the Kayfun Lite - however, even there, the Russian is almost as expensive as the real one.

I did buy a Nemesis from Atmomixani. I also had an expensive original atomizer up top; and ended up by loosing that setup while at a friends house. The friend then bought me a Nemesis clone for christmas. I can tell you personally the performance is good on the clone; but the original had much higher manufacturing standards. On the clone for example; I sometimes have to take the atomizer off and tighten up the head contact screw in order to take out the battery. Why? Because the threads are so loose that trying to remove any component spins the battery on the contact, and the contact pitch is greater than the thread pitch on the body tube, making each "loosening" twist of the body tube actually tighten the whole mod up.

I like the idea of the budget clones; it's better for us vapers to not have to have $300+ sitting in our pockets, or our hands, to vape; but it's also bad too - after all, someone had spent time and money to develop the product to bring to market, the cost of originals isnt all just free profits you know ;)

That being said, going forward, I intend on getting the clones first, to get used to a device. Nothing quite punches you in the gut like spending $150+ on a device you hate to use :(

I picked up a Nemesis Clone and couldn't believe how nice it was. Had every intent of eventually picking up an original down the road.
Then Atmomixani let me down be dumbing down the Nemesis with availability of Colored Aluminum Tubes.
Not about to shell out $40 for the same basic tube Joyetech sells for $10. I see no High tech Craftsmanship in those Tubes, just Huge profits.

So now I own 4 Nem Clones @ a total cost of $106.00 :D
All great performers and all great looking Mods. :2cool:

I am torn here....
I don't have an issue with copying a form factor. This is done all the time in everything we use. Phones, cars, tablets, etc... And, I can't speak from experience because I don't own any of the high end mods (yet) or their Clones but I do have a problem with them from my own ethics compass. To me a "clone" of a product would be a product that looks the same and functions exactly the same with one exception. The logo. This is where I draw the line and can't bring myself to buy a clone. When you put a manufacturers or companies name on a product that is saying the manufacturer or company stands behind it
It says that they were involved in it. It says that they received money for their work. Most of what I see around the net are not Clones in my eyes. They are blatant counterfeits. Yes, they are advertised as Clones and not the real deal. But once that initial purchase is done most people may not be able to tell the difference.

I am buying a nemesis. I'd love to buy a used one for a little bit of savings, but I wouldn't dare buy one anywhere other than from atmomaxani because there are too many spot on Clones out there... Clones ruin the resale market IMHO.

You have no idea lol

you can buy something and if you dont like it sell it in the ECF classies usually without losing much if anything at all and sells within a few hours. the clone comes out and it takes forever to get rid of an original without taking a hit.

i dont care for the copies either but some people cant pop 200 bucks when all they have is a 20 dollar bill.

in many cases the cloned atty's actually drive up interest in the real ones, so in that respect i dont think too many modders will really complain if you press them on the issue. how can you when a clone is everywhere yet yours still sells out. no matter how many kayfun clones pop up svoe mesto still cant keep up with the stock demands.

Got a nemesis you wanna sell? I'll give you full clone price for it :p

As far as pieces being to expensive.. My vape budget, as grimm would say, is $6 per day. I spent that much on smokes every day. My goal isn't saving money, it's saving my life. So, I basically have 2grand and change to spend per year on vape goodies. So, when I see something I want I'm gonna buy it. I'm looking forward to having a huge collection.

If you're going to flip a mod and intend on making money, then yes, clones killed the resale market for sure. I've never bought a mod thinking I would sell it. I buy them because I want them to use and enjoy so clones mean nothing because I have an original because that's what I wanted. I have a bunch of authentic mechs and their clone counterparts and with only one could I tell the difference and even that is very close.

Since you were originally looking at a Hammer clone, the Hcigar version is the best of those, a near 1:1 replica of the original. Other clones that are as good or almost as good as the originals- the Nemisis mech mod, and the Kayfun atty.

The Tobeco (Together Best Cooperation) version of the Hammer, is hit or miss. Lots of people have gotten good ones, and some people have received bad ones (or at least ones that need to be "fiddled" with).

I agree, read the reviews. Also, what works for some might not work for others. It's a matter of preference. I simply can't afford some of those mods so clones are fine by me. There are some that there are no clones so I may have to save up and get a real mod. The V3tronic stuff is amazing and haven't heard anything bad about them. Another thing is availability. Some of the higher end stuff had a list that gets filled up pretty quick. I've had great luck with clones this far :)
