I can see both sides of this one. I have a deposit on the SX mod too and have been patient as is my nature. I am willing to wait for a really good mod if I have to. However I do think we deserve more status updates and some pics of a finished mod or at least progress pics showing where in its evolution the mod is now.

This hobby moves fast. When we sent our deposits we expected to have what we thought was the best technology available at the time. That is no longer the case. The dna 200 seems to be a better board now I'm sure YiHi has something on the drawing board.

Tom can you give us a firm date for the SX350 and post some pics?

Well sorry about being gone for so long everyone, my little brother had a baby a couple days ago and its still in the hospital, i finally got to see it yesterday. I know I was absent from the thread for a good 12 hours, my bad. I'm in California btw, so im usually a little late to get here, behind the rest of the country\world.

Im having a little more work done on the sx mods. After I got the faceplates back I decided that I wanted the cnc guy to do the holes that the faceplates go in as well . I'll decscibe this as best I can; the faceplates are sitting flush, recessed into the back of the mod, the hole that the plates are sitting in I had origionally done myself. When I got them back he had gone over the hole in one mod (with the cnc mill) it looked great, much bettere than I had done by hand on my machine, so i gave him all the mods and he is doing it to all of them right now. It added a few days onto the wait but it looks really good. I think you will all be happy that I did this. I apologize for the wait, its taken longer than I wanted as well. Its the first regulated mod I've done and I want it to be as awesome as i can make it. I have to wait till monday to talk to the shop but i will talk to him on monday and let you know.

loopy, what makes you think the dna200 is a better board? I'm not trying to be rude, if you prefer it I'd like to know. I've got one, but ive only used it a little bit, its nice bc its a little bit thinner, so it doesn't take up as much room, but its gotta be run off at least a 2s lipo or 2 18650's so you either have to run a lipo, or your mods gonna be on the large side. Im not saying I dont like the 200, but I definatly still prefer the jboard, especially in a more portable device.

Tom. Admittedly I have no experience with the DNA 200. My comment was just based on the fact that is newer more powerful and from what I read very flexible. I know there are battery issues trying to power that board. So I was making an assumption that newer equals better and I know that is not always true.

No worries brother, quite often that is my assumption as well. I;ve grown to be quite leary of ecig boards, especialy of the dna family. I have a few dead 40's laying around. That is one of the reasons im such a big j board cheereleader; its a monster. its got ncie presets and its upgradeble; nice features ya know, but at the end of the day it sucks power out of a batter like a champ. I really hate it from a builders pov, its big and unlike the 200, its thick, it had this big ring on the back of it that makes it 17mm thick, (an 18650 is 18mm) so for all intents and purposes its as big (actually bigger) than a battery... for that reason i hate it, but its still worth it to use it because its reliable, powerfull, upgradeable, customizable. they talk about the power race, like the dna20, 30, 40..mods were all just going with more power. now they have gotten to the point that they have mroe that enough power and everyone is starting to get gimmicky.. bluetooth to your cellphone, customizable screens, etc. cool stuff I guess but is it worth the added cost and does that make it better? I haven't really been able to put the hours on the 200 yet to see if it will be as reliable as the j board so I am kinda swayed towards that yihi because I have been beating on it an it seems to like it. i think thats enough rambling right?

I've never seen anyone vape at 150W. Perhaps some people can. Pwofessionaw vapers only.

I tick along at 70W and i can achieve that on a mech.

Why i'd want Bluetooth on a mod at all defeats me. Just a well-made, reliable mech and i'm happy.

I have seen a 'base station' ?? powered by a computer power supply that looked like 4 hookah pens attached to a box. Naturally i cannot find it now.

There is a 2 port version for people like myself with no social life or friends, but it just cannot beat the portability of a battery and even a crappy Ego passthru.

I'm with you T. While I enjoy the chipped and regulated stuff (have more than a few) when around the house with my feet kicked up, there's something about the rawness of a good old mech when out and about. IMHO a mech is a regulated device as well. Regulated by the choice of build and condition of battery of course.

And on another note...While I understand the anticipation and frustrations of waiting for things, I'd rather wait a little longer for something to be done right than receiving something that has been rushed and or cobbled together in order to meet demand.

That's all I have to say about that.

I went past 150W, around 200. with 24mg juice!

That was with a 1.4ohm coil made with 26awg wire (around 14 wraps as I recall). Wasn't nearly as hot as a low resistance coil (look at W/mm^2).

1 hit and done sort of thing at that nic level. At 3-4mg it would be nice though.

But that would go through a jot of juice!

I saw a lot of those "base stations" at the ecig convention, they use them as testers. I'd imagine you could run it off of a car battery or something 12v it's pretty cool, I could see it parked next to my couch with 6 attys and 5 hoses , it looks like an electronic hookah, which is what they also go by I think. Those are the two most prominent applications for something like that, I think they primarily make them for stores as testers.
