Sounds like Tom would prefer not to have to make any more of them. ;)
From a financial standpoint definitely, however now there's a super awesome bottom feeder on the lose, I'm pretty proud of the things. The problem is it's a huge gmable, there is no magic tool for making holes in titanium. An edm is really the only way to do it and if I did that it's like $80/per hole to get the hole started, then I still have to go thru every hole and open it up to size with a boring bar.

Here's a little insight into the joy involved with working with titanium. ..

Right now I have a few mods that have bits broken off in them. . . Yeah I know, surprise right... so I have a 50 to $100 bit broken off in the mod , it's the 3rd bit of that kind that's broken on said hole, this one is just the first one I couldn't get out myself so now it's off to the edm and besides the money it's at least a few days return.. this is how you get hundreds of dollars lost in one hole on one mod.

I said $1000 but the reality is even that isn't enough, I can spend $800 on just having the holes started on each mod from my edm guy, I'd still need the bits to finish them, which constantly need replacing, you can't just buy the proper bit that works forever. It's just too expensive and time consuming to use titanium, everyone who ordered them already is lucky, if you didn't pull the trigger I'm sorry, I'm not doing any more titanium mods.

Wow that sucks.... I understand what your saying though... I should have pulled the trigger when you first said it, was just waiting to see a completed one :(
I'll give ya half off a cerakote or something if you want an aluminum mod instead. Just let me know bud.

I'm glad I threw caution to the wind. Just remember no one on their deathbed wishes they took fewer chances in life. Just think if I didn't or TBev didn't; how many options that we currently have wouldn't exist. I truly don't mean to toot my own horn but between the two of us (Tom&Tom)we have elevated all of your bottom fed games. Some times this can be a lot harder than a lot of people realize. The stress and the self imposed deadlines are the hardest part but I'm sure that's nothing compared to watching a $100 bit break and jam into a $200 piece of titanium not to mention all the previous steps that have to be repeated just to get back to where you started from.

Btw: I got snowed in today so I didn't have a chance to send the 7068 bar but I have it all packed up with a gift that will look stellar on a TMod. I'm thinking 7068 should be a walk in the park compared to Grade 5 Titanium. Kind of like me going from Derringers to anything with a 2 piece pin/post.

That blue one next to mine looks awesome! Assuming mine is the untreated square on the end.

Is it too late for treatment?

Uh huh I was thinking the same thing about the blue;) That was one of the things I was considering until the titanium became a unicorn

Those Ti cap pic's are a sight to behold.... :hubba:

I noticed you'd been kinda quiet for a bit but highly suspected you weren't taking a break. (Workaholic insomniac). Sounds like you've had a rough run with these T buggers. You have my heartfelt appreciation.

I'm guessing that blue cap next to Toms is mine? I Would also guess with anodizing being a surface treatment, that you probably have to hit it once more before it's finished. Yea baby, shock the #%*&@$ outa that puuurdy girl! I love that nice steely blue complexion.

Aluminum, brass, bronze and copper should feel like cutting butter after this.

Thanks again for all your hard work Tom. (More thank$ later)

Perhaps you can make enough on the easier mods to acquire your own EDM setup.

Perhaps even build one?
