ive been checking mine for the "crud" and haven't seen any as of yet.whats the crud made up of btw?and its supposed to be on the batt side right..ive had this mod for a while and have still never seen the crud.i am digging the way the brushed squonkholes look for sure.ive been usin the 25r batts and the lasting power on the new batts is great.hope they keep up the good work.doesnt look like it'll make it here before the weekend or do you only ship on certain days like Rob does?just curious.
I've been sending them out in order as many as I can get finished up per day I'll ship yours out tomorrow, I think.....ive been sending A LOT of mods out.. The black crap is just you typical crud nothing fancy I don't know where it comes from tbh but it will show up after about a month or so depending on usage.

The Tmod is made for us button mashers, that being said, my second Tmod was 2.4mm taller, and a bit harder to mash and I used a Neodymium magnet to shorten the throw.

I'm curious about the magnet too, and assume you put it down at the negative connection? Wonder if the black cruddy stuff will build up on the magnet over time.
Got mine today and am loving it!
The stiff button took awhile to get used to but once you get used to it it's not too bad at all. I'm not a button masher so I gotta get my thumb muscle built up :)

I'm interested in the magnets too. Anyone got a link?

Thanks Tbev!

You may not see crud build up for a bit yet. You'll know when it doesn't hit like a freight train any more, lol. I got a small file to get I'm there and scrape it off. I'm in the habit now of looking down I'm there every battery change.

Took her apart and gave it a nice soapy bath. Clean as a baby and now have a good understanding of the 510 adjustments. Got a little battery rattle to work out and she's ready for prime time!

Very happy!

If you have any button top batteries, I find they make for a good button throw. Don't have any AW's to try but the button top Samsung 25R are what I'm using exclusively in the TMods.

Looking good bro! Your always going to have a little battery rattle, it's the price you pay for connectivity, no springs.

If you have batteries that are dedicated to a mod, you can buy battery wraps and cut strips to go around the battery. I use a strip about 1/2" from the top and another 1/2" from the bottom. It is just enough to stop the rattle without making it difficult to change out.

I believe it's a byproduct of flowing current through dissimilar metals. Electrolysis of sorts. Similar to how chrome and anodizing are coerced onto a surface, but a reversed process of slow corrosion.

Yeah that's correct, that and crap from handling your batteries and random gunk all attracted to the contact points, that's why it creates a little black dot on the center of the battery hole, right on the little tittie (contact) on the bottom of the hole.

I had some rattle in mine, since I have dedicated batteries for each mod, I used a bit of scotch tape around mine to stop the rattle, and they are still easily removed.

I have a question about using magnets to "extend" the battery would this impede the flow from the battery? Disclamer- I am not an engineer just my thoughts

Yes it will, every time you add a floating point of connection between the battery and Atty it "can" lead to added resistance, power loss or a potential source of failure.

I personally would rather add mass (solder a small brass shim) to the bar below the button than stack things on the battery.

Using a magnet isn't the wrong way, it can be viewed as less efficient.
