What do you recommend?
Value hobby
Hobbyking (you'll have to check reviews, but they always have good lipos... due to the nature of massive warehouses and overseas shipping, I'd toss the lowest 10% in the bin after discharging them so you know your customers are getting the very best... what you want to do is test the cell internal resistance and make sure the cells in the pack are matched pretty closely... Then check the pack internal resistance and discard the highest ones... do this with fully charged cells that have been sitting in a controlled environment and make sure every test is at the same temperature for consistent results... I can't stress that the packs have to be at the same charge state and temperature enough)

^For the budget minded^

SPC racing (spec point concepts)
SMC racing (superior matching concepts)

^For top of the line.^ (these guys test every battery and either deep discount or toss anything that doesn't match specs... and their prices are still competetive)

Barring that (fitment issues considered), check out what the fly boys use on RCGROUPS, RCTECH and other rc sites with a lot of flyers that do a bunch of lipo testing.

ETA: Tom at SPC and Danny at SMC are great guys to deal with to boot. out of the dozens of lipos I've bought, my SMC packs are the only ones that can handle the brutal beating my motor I have in a couple RCs can dish out.

If you can convince one of them to supply you with packs that meet your specs, you'll be in the win column over nearly anything else.

Snuck out to the PO and picked up my yelllow beauty! It's stunning Tom! And so light!

I do have a question, what type of 26650 batts work on these? I have some MNKE 26650 ones that are orange and apparently they are too long. When I put one in there is zero throw as in, tighten the atty and she fires. There is no give in the button.[emoji6]

And thanks again Tom for the coils! They will be perfect and much needed. I wrapped some the other day with my "new" thumb and it got rather angry. LOL Will try again in a couple of weeks[emoji6]

Dammit, both of the 26650s I just built for people using mnke cells, they won't work, those cells are too tall like you said. You can use effest , I use the green 4200mah. Cells I've been pushing those really hard and I haven't blown one up yet and they last way longer than the mnke's, I tossed my mnke's I'm using mxjo's which I'm not a big fan of or the effests, I know I don't like admitting that either.

TY digital [emoji4] I have ordered some from RTD and already see a shipping label. Nine million vape shops in the area and not a one had any. Only one shop had some of the MNKE ones. I need to practice some patience anyway. LOL

It is a beautiful mod BTW! The cerakote looks very durable. Will post a pic tomorrow of my whole TMod family. Won't get home til late to tonight. [emoji6]

So I've been working on a lipo mod on the side, I guess I'll share some pics of the progress. It's a 10ml bottle, the cap is going to be on the bottom, it's basically up side down. I had maxamps make me a 2s, 1800mah., 7.4v pack. I'm gonna run a mosfet setup, bc I haven't done that before, w/ a voltage meter .

Yeah sorry I wanted to make the throw short for ya but I didn't like the mnke's that I had so I just kinda figured nobody was using them. Those green effest 26650's I've been running at 0.25ohm with no problems. I can't recommend that tho I think that's lower than I should be pushing them..

I've done dual cell squonkers but personally I think they the size / weight isn't worth it so I tried not to sell them anymore. I think the lipo should be overkill. I haven't used it yet but if in run it at a 50 amp draw it should last for a while. I'm going to be pretty upset if I can't power thru 10ml on one lipo, I won't be surprised if I can do 20ml/charge.

No sweat Tom [emoji3] My usual build is .49-.50 and have never gone lower. Got some of the other batts coming.

I currently have 1.5. My alum that I have been running all day everyday, and my incoming bronze that is with dready getting make up on [s/he is a tranny, so make up suits] And I think I am good. But I am watching this lipo now, more so than the regulated mods.

That patina bronze is going to be sweet! Can't wait to see what mark does to it. I threaten to send my brass one to him when it comes time top polish which is often. LOL I love the way it looks polished and with the brass derringer atop. May let it go awhile and see what it will wind up looking like.
