they are getting close, but atm when it comes to cloud chasing RDAs still win.
the closest one so far that i've tested/used is the arctic.
kanger subtanks seem to be kind of close to some of the older more restrictive RDAs, but nothing close to something like a doge

but give them time, im sure they will come out with better designs that get even closer

I can't really answer your question but if you're interested in cloud chasing tanks you might want to have a look at 528 customs monster V2 Kayfun. Made specifically for cloud chasing/comps. It's pricey.....can't wait to get one myself.

528 Custom Vapes

Also check them out on YouTube so you can see the tank in action.

Well at the moment, I'm using a RDA(Doge V2) with 26 wire,8 wraps. and my uncle is fogging me out with his Eleaf lemo 2.
I don't have a Lemo 2 but on my Doge V2 i tend to use something a bit more airy for cloud chasing. Dual 26ga twisted with 6 wraps out clouds my Goblin V2 anyday.

Back to the matter at hand though
The question is.. Is it possible? Do you believe the sub ohm tanks in today's market could possibly hold a candle to the insane Rdas of the market today such as the dark horse or the doge v2? If not in their stock form then in what way could one modify it too hold a candle in a cloud chasing competition

The production of vapor is dependent on 2 elements. Heat + air density. A tank can create as much heat an RDA which means the real deciding factor is airflow. You can easily get more direct airflow out of an RDA than a tank. Not to say that Tanks cant cloud chase, but if built the same, with the same juice, an RDA will usually win. It would be pretty cool to see a tank that can outcloud an RDA though

1: possible? yes.
2: usually tanks have
- airflow problems;
- chamber size problems;

the typical rda has a lot of airflow available, and more deck space available.
