So I just picked up a Cloupor Mini 30 Watt Box mod. I've been a mech mod subohm kinda vapor for a long time now, but have been watching the regulated box mod game for a good time to jump in, which seemed like know since the prices have dropped a lot and China seems to be getting some of the critical "bugs" out of the circuit boards and other issues.
So I ended up grabbing a few, the Cloupor Mini 30 Watt being one of them. It was bent to be my at work or in the car vape. I read the dimensions of the box mod and It stated the top of the box was 22mm depth. I thought "perfect, all my 22mm attys will sit nice on it with no overhang".... well, in typical China eCig fashion, they came so close but so far away. The top depth of the mod is indeed 22mm, but they completely shot themselfs (or more like it all of us) in the foot by not placing the 510 connector 11mm from the edge of the top width. This of course makes all 22mm attys hang over the front edge where the control buttons are located. This is such a blunder to me and i couldn't even believe my eyes when I started slapping attys onto it..... it makes it look so goofy and unnatural. The other thing I then noticed is that the 510 connector protrudes up above the top of the box mod. This causes all attys to have a gap between the atty and the mod, enough to were I can slide a business card in between the area.
These two issues are currently driving me crazy. I'd had to say, atty gap and atty overhang are two of my biggest pet pevs. I mean, it's 2015.... why are we still dealing with these kinda design issues?
So I'm coming to you guys looking for some advice on rectifying these situations so I can make a proper vape setup out of this thing. I know you won't let me down, seems like there enough of this mod sold where vapers have had and fixed the same issues I'm having.
1) I need the perfect tank (or even dripper, but mostly tank) to slap on this Cloupor Mini 30 Watt so that there is no overhang or any part of the atty sitting wider than the top of the mod.
2) has anyone seen or messed with getting rid of that atty gap? I'm thinking I could sand down the part sticking up above the top of the mod to make it flush. Maybe throwing some duct tape ontop around the 510 would keep be from scratching my pretty little mod all up in the processs. I also see some skins\wraps for the Cloupor Mini. Maybe placing a sticker type skin around the mod would raise the top just high enough to meet flush with the protruding 510 connection, making any atty attached to it in the future not what the ugly gap?
