Finally got my new RTA (Silverfast) just to find out it won't work with my mod :( The 510 on the bottom is too short. It does work with my little EZ Watt mod (only has a few wattge settings and is almost worn out) My good mod is a Kangertech Kbox mini and is very new (works fine with several other attys) I saw a review of this mod (and it's on sale) and Jai Haze .....ed about the gap between the mod and atty (exactly what I need actually):
Pioneer4You IPV Eclipse 200W Mod
Any suggestions for a "cheap" mod that will work with short 510 atty?
Why did my font change???

BTW, the 510 center pin has screwdriver slot (like it is adjustable) but too tight... I was afraid to force it (or that it's not adjustable but holds the deck together) Also, what about a heat sink spacer? Would that even help? I actually wanted to get another Silverplay (they had a temporary discount... only $10) but waiting till I have a solution. Does anyone have a mod that tends to leave a gap when you screw on an atty?

Some are adjustable and some are not. Checked my Silverplay and seems adjustable but didn't want to push my luck as loaded with juice... Should be able to check for specifics on youtube. If not, then easiest to use an o-ring under the 510 pin; here are ones I ordered (though should be widely available). And yes, have used heat spacers in the past and did the trick; just get one with a copper pin. GL

The oring sits under the 510 pin so the pin won't screw in as far but is tight. I do like the silverplay though wish it had larger capacity. Using slotted insert. And use a same built across most devices: 26ga ti wire with 3.5mm ID, spaced and wicked with rayon, and then vaped using temperature control; works well for me. :)

No, I have the opposite problem... pin won't reach far enough into mod.
I'm using small hole insert. 26 ga kanthal 3mm ID but next trying a small clapton coil and larger hole insert (the clapton came with a kit... don't know the specs)

The oring will extend the screw out of the bottom of your deck farther, making the 510 effectively longer. This should absolutely fix your issue. I have also trimmed a mm or two of silicone squonk tubing to use instead of an oring and it works just as well.
