they said to test it. how long does the warranty last. and idk i think it was maybe 8 or 9 wraps of 28ga at about 1.3ohms. wicked with organic cotton, pretty soaked (apparently not enough? lol)

You'd better make a coil just for this test. No wick, no nothing. It's what I did - twice (for both my devices, which arrived at different dates).
Let us know how it went. :)

You warranty depends mostly on the seller.

Assuming all other things to be equal, your coil should have survived the 15 seconds at 30 watts with flying colors.

Use the old "if-at-first-you-don't-succeed-try-try-again" strategy: Build another coil and give the test a second go. (And do as Flapstick advised: no wick, no juice, just the naked coil on the atty.)

FWIW there are at least two different iterations of the CM board firmware. Later updated boards display "Battery Full" message when charged through the USB, earliest versions don't display that message, don't rightly know what they do/say when fully charged through the USB so maybe someone w/the early board can comment. But the point is, there may be differences in how they display battery levels..

The biggest difference is the lack of ”Battery Full” message, followed by no message at all: it keeps acting like it's charging even when the battery is full. It is also not showing the full battery icon more than several seconds or so (if at all). Other than that, I haven't noticed other differences.

I would flash the newest firmware on the black one in a second, but there's no leak or FW kit so far... :(

No way a 28g. coil should be popping in 15 seconds. I Dry burn them clean all the time, Test and re-adjust as needed. Never have popping problems.
^-- This! :D

Seriously now, it very much depends on what kind of ”organic cotton” you've found - there's a plethora of types and plenty of them are crap(py) in various degrees.
I use either o.c. or KGD. Rayon is nowhere to be found where I live. :)

U.S.A. Rayon everywhere :D Sally's Beauty Supply in almost every big city and on line.

Euro(?) - Cotone Graham CelluCotton Rayon Fibers 100% - Svapo Planet di Bonati Matteo
Cellucotton Rayon - Cotton Substitute Graham Wick in Europe

Google is your friend ;)

Google is everybody's friend; not so are shipping costs, man.
I know perfectly where to buy - that is not the issue here.

I also know that Rayon is not exactly cotton - it's viscose, which I tried (different brand, granted) and found to be ”meh”. I much prefer KGD or other real cotton. :)

To each their own. I find Both to work equally well as to Taste when wicked and powered properly. I simply find cellucotton to be more efficient capillary medium.

As to Viscose - You would have to confirm with manufacturer since there are several process' for regenerating cellulose.

Just got mine from GearBest. A battery compartment has a big scratch on the bottom. Looks like the unit has been tested or is an used one. Firing OK. The screw doesn't seem to do anything. Just spinning around. Magma is sticking out and I can't do anything about it. Serial 0010. Some oxidation on connectors. 20150219_133655.jpg20150219_132348.jpg
Charging right now from USB. The box is getting warm just after 5 minutes:blink:. Maybe is it should be like that?
The display stays on while charging.

I use KGD cotton and Cellucotton Rayon pretty much interchangeably. Each has its strong qualities; both are terrific.

Cotton---specifically Koh Gen Do Japanese Organic Cotton Pads---has the advantage of being easier to work with. As Croak points out, cutting a strip of cotton from the KGD pads is a snap, and easy to replicate time and again. Cotton has no break-in period. It's neutral, wicks wonderfully, and lets the flavor of the juice shine through from the first puff.

Despite being slightly more difficult to work with and having a short break-in period while ramping up to maximum flavor delivery, rayon (in the rope-like coil Graham Cellucotton uses) has the advantage of wicking superbly, a little better even than cotton. Rayon also keeps its shape/integrity beautifully and lasts longer than cotton before needing to be replaced.

Of the many wicking materials available and discussed on ECF, KGD cotton and Cellucotton rayon remain the winners for me, running neck and neck in a photo finish.

All that is just my opinion, however. YMMV.

Put it down and read your instructions.
Screw is for Center pin height. No way it will go low enough to Flush a (To Long) Magma 510 connection. If you tried to force it, you have likely already stripped the screw threading.
Scratch is the same as mine. Likely a machine mark only found on the Black units.
