So I'm borrowing a Cloupor mini from my dorm neighbour, and I was a little concerned after reading about the explosions and such, but I thought "Nah, that's a one in a million".

I was just vaping some MBV French Toast (my morning puff) on passthrough, and smoke started pouring out of the battery compartment. These things are so compact their safety circuit, if you can call it that, frys itself with its own heat! Reminds me of when I used to buy green laser pointers in highschool, use a sotering iron on their safety circuits to fry them and then sell kids heat lasers they could light smokes with! These mods are dangerous.

TL;DR Spend the extra money to get a better product unless you want to get burned.

"use a sotering iron on their safety circuits to fry them and then sell kids heat lasers they could light smokes with" ???

Ummmm, i own many lasers, exactly what "safety" circuits are you talking about? Also, what is a "heat laser". There is no such thing.
Perhaps you are referring to some other device?

Might be his only post for this thread.

What serial number range was this unit? Was it tested as suggested by Cloupor?

To Cloupor mini owners:

We are so sorry to bring some customers any trouble during last few days .

To satisfy the huge market , we worked hard for the large production .
And we actually didn’t control the whole quality system very well at that time.

About 0.1%-0.2% Cloupor mini may have overheat or short circuit or some other different defective problems. This may cause the circuit board melted down, but it will never reach to a ignition point to make other things burn , let alone catch fire.

If yours with the above kind of problem ,be free to email us user@cloupor.com

For the customers do not have any problem until now but worry about if yours with the potential overheat problem,
here is a simple identify way:
Connect a atomizer and press the fire button 15s at 30W(just one time) , if doesn’t show "Too hot" ,that’s a good unit.

We’v found the source of the problem and changed the firmware .For the new batch we shipped from last week ,
no this overheat issues.

Tough time may happen to any companies , we believe a positive attitude will make all things better .
Thanks so much for your support ! And welcome any suggestion!

I doubt anyone who would dream something like the above up would bother to read and follow any instructions from the manufacturer. Not to mention that in THIS case it's not the mod that presents the danger, it's the unit holding the mod that I would be leery of.

Haters gonna hate

You have to be kidding?
What is Hateful about - might be his only pose in this thread?

The guy made a pretty LAME sounding Post. Maybe he fried the Charge port(it has happened) and maybe the unit is an early release that was used little until He borrowed it. Or...............maybe he is just a Spammer.
Just my :2c:

I HOPE he was saying the OP was doing the hating, against the CM. I could be wrong, though...

Time will tell.

If that is indeed the case I guess the device can now be used as advertised.

Including USB charging.

Right?

Time may tell, but after 2 years of watching USB failures, I'll stick to external charging. Battery swaps are quick and simple. Plus 2 batteries will last a lot longer than constantly hammering on one.:)
I allow my batteries to cool and balance before Charging and after.

I have my cp mini for like two weeks now. I only use maybe half the battery a day if that (just not a heavy vaper guys) however I have had a samsung 25r in there. I pass through it in my laptop all the time. And I got it down to like a quarter charge. So far no problems. Running a magma mainly at .75 ohms at around 20 watts. I charge it with the USB all the time. Guess I'm a badass or something.

O.k. so I've been using the CM for a few weeks now. I'm firing it with Sony vtc4 and vtc5 and Samsung cells. It has not shown any sign of faulty operating. The cells do deplete rather quickly but not much faster than in the Aspire CF mod tube. My back cover had loosened up a little bit, however, I've applied a small strip of double sided tape (thanks heavyrocker) and it is more stable now. I have the 510 pin at its lowest setting as the Atlantis has a self adjusting contact. I charge externally only and aside from the Atlantis getting a little warm under repeated use see no reason for concern. Lot# 00081019
