So I am about a week into vaping, and I have gone immediately from 1+ packs a day of Winston lights to 3 or 4 a day. I am finding that I still crave that carbon monoxide CLUNK! You know the clunk: how it clunks you over the head and makes your whole body feel like lead. Nonsmokers in general do not understand this evil craving, but it is the one thing that ecigs do not give, since there is no burning. In fact, I now call analogs "clunks". If I want to be smoke free, I must break myself from thinking I want this, but it is a very ingrained part of a deep smoking addiction.

Just throwing this out to hear others' thoughts on this and maybe get some suggestions. I wanna be clunk-free!

I am on day two of vaping and I have not wanted an analogue at all. All day yesterday I carried them in my pocket thinking that the vaping would not be enough I would want a real cig, but the urge has not hit. My wife really wanted me to quit, and I really wanted to quit, so maybe I psyched myself up, but vaping is pure pleasure and I am already getting my sense of smell back with regards to analogues and that alone has helped keep me away. Keep trying and I sure you will be able to quit.

Kurt,

It can be a tough one!

There is difference from analogs and I don't think it will ever feel the same. With analogs you get the affect of depriving your brain of oxygen at a minimum, which you don't get with vaping and never will.

What I do, when I get that craving is up the juice a bit more for those tough times. This craving increasing with beer, so I normally vape at about 18mg and I up it to about 24 when I need to calm the craving.

You will have to toughen up a bit when the cravings hit, knowing that you are not putting an additional 10,000 chemicals in your body, 56 of which are carcinogens ought to make it a bit easier to cope.

Good luck and hang in there, the change is worth it IMHO.

Thanks for the suggestions and support! Yes, it is surprising the complexity of analog addiction. I'll remember to bring some higher conc liquid with me to work. I happened to have a high greensmoke cart and batt, and that definitely helped. Maybe I won't fire the GS afterall! It made a great fast backup without the usual mess concerns of the 510.

It took me over a month of vaping before I was able to give up the analogs. Immediately I was down to smoking less than half of my usual pack a day and it quickly got to the point where I was down to 2 analogs a day.

I realized, just this past friday actually, that I don't need analogs, it's more of a habit of going outside, lighting up, drawing off the analog... There were no ill effects if I just vaped when that urge struck, if I had to I would top up and chain vape to get through it.

Still haven't touched an analog since Thursday and the urges to partake in sitting down and lighting an analog are pretty much gone already. The first 2 days included a lot of chain vaping to get through, but it's worth it. Last night, for the first time in years, I was actually able to smell the Ocean as we drove by it.
