Yeah i've heard about people using that long ago around the same time as they were using the regular tea bags.. also heard people use paper towel as well if you can believe that! lol.

When i first started on these forums i went out one night and bought up coffee filters/tea bags/straws and even wool.

heh.. Only tried the tea bags that worked ok.. till i figured out what everyone was talking about with the pyramid tea bags and got those insted.

Coffee filters don't want to give up the liquid once it absorbs it. Not a good filler.

The gossimer fabric the pyramid tea bags are made of holds the liquid just enough to keep it from leaking, but doesn't actually absorb it, so it let's go of it when you draw on the atty. It's also too soft - it gets soppy and bunches up back in the cart and no longer touches the bridge wick.

Kristen,

I just picked up on this stuff, but I've actually read several of your posts. The last I read was regarding the cut straw and the blue filler. Is that still what you are currently using?

I just started this last week and one of my main concerns was being able to use this while on the road (I'm on the road a lot and covering a lot of territory). I bought a pass through and a 510 starter kit from a US vendor as well as some e juice through lightinthebox. So far so good. Yesterday was my first day to try it on a long eight hour drive, and other than the frustration of a cart losing it's flavor and vapor production pretty frequently, I at least didn't feel the urge to stop to purchase a tobacco product of any type. So I'm needing a good cart mod that will last for a while.

By the way, you write informative and helpful posts.

And not to get off topic, but does anyone know if there is a quality difference between the e juice being sold on lightinthebox and what is sold by other vendors?

And back on topic, I tried the coffee filter yesterday. No good.

The best thing for driving is to have 2-3 carts prefilled and you can just pop on a fresh cart. Also, use your USB Passthrough and get a USB car adapter. Much less of a pain not having batteries die on the trip! (I have a weekly 6 hour road trip.) But I often just refill on the go - at a stoplight or something - because it's easy to refill.

I'm currently using the PTB Straw Mod (PTB Made Easy). I like the RSP mod (straw with blue pad) but I don't like having to remove a plug to refill the cart. The PTB Made Easy is easy to make, performs well, tastes good and is easy to maintain, clean & refill. I wish it held more liquid like the reservoir mods, but it's tons better than regular poly-fil and easier to make and reuse than the other PTB mods. I usually get 12 drops on the first fill and 8 drops on refills/top off. Polyfil eventually gets to the point where you can only refill with 2-3 drops. So the PTB Made Easy is about 75% more efficient with liquid.
